In the course of a conversation with a new client, I was told that he sometimes does some under the table work for a landlord in the Victorian Village area. He asked me if I knew the area, and I commented that I think it's a really nice area. We started chatting a little bit about old houses and then he abruptly changed gears. He told me that when he's in Victorian Village, he sees a lot of "weird people."

I admit it, I'm nosey. "There are weird people everywhere," I commented, and he agreed, but seemed persistent that there were especially weird people in the Village. "What kind of weird people?" The question, for me, was almost required.

So he hedged a little bit and finally let me know that he sees "girls holding hands with girls and kissing each other." Well, shoot! He's probably seen me more than once out there in my neighborhood. Maybe I'll look for him next time, and plant a big fat smooch on Jennifer.

I wish I had weird people like that around here!

The only weird things in my neighborhood are children driving golf carts (we live on a dirt road and they go to the mini-mart a quarter-mile out by the main road our neighborhood is just off of) and the lady next door that seems to have at least a half dozen dogs.

We've got a sheep lady a couple of blocks away. She has a whole flock in her backyard. Baaaaa!

I wonder if she'll knit me a pair of mittens for the winter. Mittens are good. Mittens with the string attaching them together so you don't lose 'em. I need string mittens. Maybe if I ask real nice..

When I was in college, my roommate [livejournal.com profile] rizzo41's mommy made me some moo-moo pattern mittens. And then she made [livejournal.com profile] rizzo41 some string mittens that looked like cow puppets.

SO COOL.

And so I read your post and I was trying to decide if I should be amused at the holes people dig for themselves, or offended at the way they inadvertently make OTHERS feel uncomfortable (I mean HIS mistake, not any he might THINK you made!), and then my eyes moved upwards to the subject line.

And I almost fell out of my chair.

Thank you, Jude. You are funny and you make me laugh.

Good thing I'm only thirty. You must stop this in ten or twenty years, given the possibility of bladder control problems, okay? :)

If I'm truly lucky, my friend, I will still be communicating with you and making you laugh when your bladder doesn't hold as well as it does now.

And maybe by then you will be mine, ALL MINE!
