Happy all the time?

I've been told by several people that I seem to be happy all the time. You know, it's really not an act. I really /am/ happy just about all the time. You would be too if you were so fortunate! These are some of the great things that happened this weekend:
My brother and his girlfriend came to visit and we had a really awesome time. We had great sushi on Friday night, and then a quick stop at the Coffee Table, and down to the Char Bar for a couple drinks. On Saturday, we had brunch at Starliner Diner (mmmm), then later saw a cool movie we hadn't heard of called Far From Heaven (that I really, really liked), and had another coffee stop, this time at Stauf's.
I got paid, and since this was a three check month, this check was bigger since they only take out for health insurance twice a month. The third check, /and/ the extra money, came at a perfect time for holiday shopping.
Last night, I had an absolutely amazing conversation with my Jennifer about what seemed to be everything. We just kept talking and talking and talking, really close to each other, and it made my heart pound.
We went shopping today and we both found gifts for the gift swap at
mayna's upcoming party. Yay! And while we were out at Easton, we ran into both
prettyvacantone and
mooglegrl, and then bumped into
the_toy_revival. And had Boston Creme cheesecake at The Cheesecake Factory.
I spent the evening with
prudentlike and Ms. Eerie Guardless. And then got to hug
my boyfriend.
Even though it's horribly, terribly cold outside, I have flannel sheets, warm kitties, and the best girl. Speaking of which, I'm going to go enjoy those things now. I hope the weekend and the holiday (if you had one) were good to you all!

Date: 2002-12-02 07:36 am (UTC)Since I trained a bit as a behavioral therapist, I'm a strong believer in how a person's feelings about their situations are based on their perceptions and beliefs. I try to keep my perceptions and underlying beliefs as upbeat as possible.
That's not to say it works all the time, because it doesn't. I get down and grumpy and cranky like everyone else. But when push comes to shove, I have a whole lot to be thankful for. I hope you do, too. :)

Date: 2002-12-02 08:09 am (UTC)smurf: How does my misuse of the term "behavioral therapist" make you feel?
vorpal: Bad...somehow it offends my mental health geekiness.
smurf: And what thoughts go through your mind when you feel offended by this?
vorpal: This is too complicated. Ask about my childhood or something.

Heh, this kind of thing doesn't matter, but it bothers me if I don't clear it up. :P
