I really don't want to go to work today. What I would rather be doing is blasting holiday music and writing out holiday cards. Shoot, when am I going to have time to do that? I think I got 6 done this morning. Maybe. While it's great spending so much time with [livejournal.com profile] kieron, I keep putting things off. Oops. At least I finished Gender Outlaw so I can return it to the library tomorrow.

Last night, she got the rubber duckie tub treads I've been hunting for at Target. I hope that little things like this never stop thrilling me. *crosses fingers*

Did I mention that prudentlikeKelly wore the HAWT pink librarian sweater and the saucy glasses last night? *humps*

I guess I need to get going now. My cats are all snuggly, though, and I want to join them! Argh! Grey mornings don't exactly encourage me.

My freshman year of college, when I was living in the dorms with Plunky (waaaaay before she was my sister-in-law) we called up a radio station right before winter break to request "Feliz Navidad". It took them /forever/ to play it. We were waiting around in the room, one hand held over the 'record' button on the tape player, to record that song ... when they finally played it, we screamed and danced around the room, laughing and having the time of our lives ... I've never forgotten it.

Why is it that when we're actively involved in creating a memory, we don't ever realize that's what we're doing? Every time I hear "Feliz Navidad" now, I go right back to college and that afternoon in the dorm room with my best friend. It's my second-favorite holiday song for that very reason (it would be my first-favorite, but 'Carol of the Bells' gives me chills).

Anyway, I know what you mean. A radio station here in town is playing nothing but holiday music ALREADY and I haven't changed the station since I realized it. I love the holidays.

Ooh, I really love "Carol of the Bells" too, and "O Holy Night." My actual real true favorite is "Joy" by George Winston, on his album "Winter." It's wonderful wonderful wonderful.

I love how music brings forth such tangible memories. Most of my memories are linked with music.

Is that as good as that one friend of yours who has the "boys are stupid" t-shirt?

Yes.

That's exactly what I meant.

I like the way you wiggle whenever you traverse any deep canyon or chasm.

Mmmm, chasms. As a matter of fact, just last night I... nevermind.

Stalagmites or stalagtites?

Never mind. I think I know the answer to that.

I'm not so sure about that.

But I won't spend too much time explaining myself.
