Help someone who NEEDS help!

Okay, this bugs me. (Warning: Macho Rant Follows!)

I realize that there are some people at Kroger (that's a grocery store for those of you not in Krogerville) whose job it is to pack groceries and then walk them out to the shoppers' cars. That's fine. I bet there are a lot of people who can really use the help of pushing all the groceries and loading them into the trunk.

I AM NOT ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE.

I am young, and I am healthy. I am strong, and tough, and I kick ass. Please don't walk my groceries to my car and leave someone else struggling behind a big shopping cart. Please.

Oh, and while I was typing this rant, I found something else to rant about! Someone just paged me (online) with: Church?? I didn't imagine you for a chuch-goer.:) When I asked for clarification, I got: Oh, it's not a *bad* thing. In my mind, I never imagined you, given your personality, as someone who was very religious.

Why not? What about my personality isn't religious? I don't get it. I ooze spirituality. Don't I?

amen! :-) i feel the same way. a lot of people - on both sides of the fence, so to speak - can't seem to understand that i'm a lesbian who actually enjoys going to church. (eek, i'm skipping church tonight because i feel awful and have tons of packing to do, but i rarely miss.) and yes, my church is pretty conserative, but i like it. after i get settled into my new place, i'm probably find one that is more liberal..but i'll always go someplace, i think.

Well, I go to one of the exceptions - a liberal church (I'm unitarian universalist). But still. I don't like:

a) how 'religious' automatically = Christian
b) how 'queer' means 'atheistic'

i agree with you on both counts. it's very interesting that you are unitarian. . .i've been looking into into it, so i might ask you more about it sometime. i need to find out if there is one in the town i'm moving to. if there is, i'm going to visit.

I'm not the be-all and end-all of UUism, but I'll answer whatever I can.

It's worth looking into. I love it.
