It's beginning to smell a lot like Christmas.

I should have know that if Jennifer and I went Christmas Tree shopping, there was no way we would buy one that was straight. Damn if that thing doesn't list waaaaay over. I was bummed about it for a while, and then it started to grow on me, but when I mentioned it to my mom, she was all, "If you want a perfect tree, buy a fake one." She knew that would irk me, that I hate fake trees. We got to talking about how we would go tree shopping (me, smurfbrother, Mom, her husband) - John and I were totally anal about trees (that one has a hole, that one is crooked, that one isn't fat enough) and Mom and Baga didn't really care. Ha! I am /still/ anal. Now, though, I love my tree. It's so cute and crooked!

I took my mom to the Short North Tavern last night. Press Grill was too full. There was a band there (Shrunken Heads) that my mom really liked. I got tipsy because I hadn't eaten dinner. Ha. Tipsy with my mom. I got so chatty - I am a sentimental tipsygirl - everything was Jen this and Jen that and Jen Jen Jen. Mom didn't seem too uncomfortable this time, which was nice. Really nice. <3

I slept alone last night. I would have had a hard time falling asleep, but I was fairly intoxicated. Heh. I used to sleep in the middle of the bed, and the bed sort of caved in centerish. I went to sleep in the middle last night, and found that it was raised in the middle, from having two bodies there all the time. I rolled over onto "my side" with my pillow and it was like she was there with me, but it wasn't as warm.

You make me want to go Christmas tree shopping! I have no idea where I'd put one.

We bought a rosemary plant trimmed into a tree shape a few weeks ago, but I'm still figuring the logistics of putting lights on it. (:

That said, it is weird sleeping alone after sleeping together. When Robert's on shifts that keep us from sleeping at the same time, I sleep on the futon in the living room -- I have less trouble falling asleep on a folded-up futon.
