Feliz Natal! Prospero Ano Novo!

Last night I got to see a friend of mine from high school that I hadn't seen since 1995, when he came to see me at my college. He has since become married to a totally wonderful woman named Melissa, and the three of us goofed off like old friend who had spent the last 7 years hanging out. Of course, Jeff and I send letters to each other monthly, so we already felt like we knew each other. On the way home from the restaurant, we each bought a Powerball ticket because it's $280million or some equally ridiculous number. None of us had ever bought such a thing before, so Melis had the convenience store owner take our pictures holding our tickets. Yes, we are dorks!
I'm getting ready to go to lunch with a girl I grew up with that later went to college with me. Chrissy and I always mean to get together but then never do, so this will be fun. Then Rick, Gretchen and I are going shopping and hopefully Rick will help me pick out the perfect gift for my Jennifer Jean. And then we change, pick up the maternal grandmother, and head to the maternal unit's house for Christmas Eve dinner and festivities. FUN TIMES!
I'm psyched at how much better this holiday season is from the last one. Last year dad was in the hospital, everyone was stressed, my mom was wigging over the whole lesbian thing, and everyone kept fighting. This year is all tidings of comfort and joy and I'm really digging it. The only thing missing is The Girl, and that's a big missing thing, but next time, Gadget, next time.
Grandma slipped my brother and I some cashola. Sweet. I love when that happens.
I probably won't be writing again until after midnight, so Merry Christmas to anyone who celebrates such a thing. Tomorrow, I wear a skirt. SHOCKER!
