I got a phone call on my cell earlier today that I didn't answer because I was with a client. I went to check my messages and it was Melissa from GLBTSS saying that she got my email about volunteering, and I should give her a call. I went downtown and did open hours and then went to an aggravating meeting about health insurance (which I have all but forgotten, whoo hoo!), and called her back.

The first good thing was the part where she laughed that in my email I had written something like, "Remember me? I used to have your job." She was like, "Of /course/, as if we could forget you." *grin* And then...

Melissa told me that I had already been earmarked a sooper special volunteer job for the conference, and that it had been decided a while ago. Brett is saving one of the ULTIMATE ULTIMATE DAR WILLIAMS DUTIES (like picking her up from the airport or dropping her off or being her personal love slave) for yours truly.

Oh my goodness, I could simply explode with happiness. So, let me get this straight... I get to attend this conference for free - and in trade, I umm, get to meet Dar Williams?
