I think my lip is less swollen now. This is good. Very good. I hate having a fat, bruised lip. I guess they had to jam that needle through really hard! It looks a lot better now, and I'm happy about that.

I went on Date Night with whod81Ryan, and wasted_breathSean and SaRaH crashed Date Night. We went to Olive Garden and ate yummy food, and stared at Mennonites, and colored on the kids' menus, and then Ryan and I decorated his take-home box. He wrote 'I [heart] Jude' on his. Awwwwh. And then I got home and went to Betty's with 356dreamerSteve and kieronThe Girl. I had a Betty Beer, which is vanilla vodka and root beer. Yummer.

I feel like I'm writing absolutely nothing of substance. It's as if I don't really have time to think and articulate my deep thoughts anymore. I kind of miss that about my life - it's become so structured and busy and planned and rushed and harried and lots of other words. I want to go out and have fun, and I want to spend time with Jen, but I want time alone, too. I think there needs to be more hours in the day. And not more work hours.

I need to brush my teeth and get into bed, to read with a girl. That will be nice. I could use that. My deep thought for the night? I really wish rizzo41Jodie lived out here. I miss her with incredible ferocity. She turned 28 yesterday. Way too old for Scott Bakula. And she's way too far away from me. It probably sounds silly and nostalgic, but I really do feel like a part of me is missing when she's not around.

Dude, I love the things the women wear on their heads. You know, the things that look like coffee filters.

oh, I know all too well
all of my neighbors but one are mennonites, back home
They do so much for us, it's unbelievable.

I think it's hilarious when you see the young mennonite girls out at places like malls...carrying their mennonite outfits in a bag, and wearing regular clothes..the whole thing is starting to fall apart!

Vanilla vodka and root beer? Damn... Now I wanna try that. I doubt ANY bar I went into here in the ATL would have root beer on hand for it though... I'd have to bring my own, and then they'd look at me funny. But they might do that anyway...

I bet if you went to a microbrewery, they would have some. Sometimes places that brew their own beer also brew their own root beer.

Or, find a bar that serves Pepsi products. There's usually root beer. :)

Pepsi? In Atlanta? Hon, the only places to get Pepsi here other than grocery stores and vending machines is KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut.

Sign me up! I hear that magpie's pretty hot. :)

You'd be surprised!

ATL is my newest stomping grounds... and there's actually a few places with it. Basically, if a place has Jager, they'll have rootbeer, since that's a popular drink combo.

... and I just made myself look like an alcoholic, lol...

Where abouts in ATL do you go out? I'm in NC, but I got to ATL often.

I don't get out enough... I like JavaMonkey (coffe), The Brick Store (pub) [both in Decatur], The Highlander, uhh... Burrito Art on Howell Mill Rd...

See, I really don't get out much...

lol, I go mostly to Decatur or some strange place in Little 5 Points.

Thanks for the names, though. I'm always looking for something new.

My Sister's House, 9 Lives... I LOVE Decatur!

I'm actually trying to figure out a way to spend some time back down there soon. I need a Flying Buscuit omlet...

Hee!

I've been to My Sister's.

Shoot. Now I have ANOTHER reason to go to the ATL - [livejournal.com profile] jost, [livejournal.com profile] kungfoogirl, [livejournal.com profile] mightywombat, and YOU!

Aw :)

Damnit... and I realize I typed My Sister's House (which is a women's shelter) instead of My Sister's Room, which would be a far more appropriate place to visit when in ATL.

How embarassing... anyhoo, I'm sure I'll post upcoming plans for my next jaunt to HotLanta, hopefully we can catch a biscuit or two (or maybe beer, lol).

There are usually pretty cheap flights to Atlanta from here. And I guess it's only 10 hours or so in the car, so perhaps The Girl and I can Road Trip. :)

But yes. YES! It must be done.

Oh my god, they SO put crack in Mini Eggs too. I go through convulsions all year along until Easter time and I can get my fix.

Perhaps we should start an awareness campaign about the dangers of crack-infested commercial products?

Last year, Jen bought a couple of big bags of mini eggs after Easter (half price, yay!) and I totally inhaled them. I think I gain 10 pounds every spring from mini eggs alone.

I just can't stop! I need a 12step program. I admit that I am powerless over the sugary goodness.

I definitely think we need an awareness campaign. You do radio, I'll do TV.
