Life could be a dream, sweetheart.
Apr. 18th, 2003 12:36 pmI've been quite the productive little monkey this morning. I actually got up earlier than I usually get up for work on most days. I crawled out of bed as soon as Jen left so I could get things ready for the weekend. I made the bed, as is my routine. When I was going to the bathroom, I thought about how I hate coming home from a trip to a dirty house - as if all of the relaxing goes right out the door. I like my return to the mundane to be as gradual as possible. Instead of going back to sleep for a while, I did Jen's dishes, cleaned the cat box, made sure the cat had fresh food and water, swept the kitchen floor, tidied up a bit, and threw out all the trash.
I came home and was just as productive: I made sure my dishes were done and my cats had food and water. I balanced my checkbook to see how much money I'd have for the trip, I sent sponsor payments to Louise (AIDS Walk NYC) and Ron (Dogswalk for Cancer NYC) and cleared out all of my backed up LJ comments. I replied to some emails. I packed all of my clothes and
geocaching stuff. I opened my (one) window to air the apartment out for a while, and took a shower. (My apartment was already clean because Jen helped me pick it up on Wednesday night.) I called my brother to gab for a little bit since he had the day off, and later my former internship boss called me and we caught up for a little while. I snuggled the cats. I'm getting ready to go to the grocery store to get the food we want to take with us.
I've got an oil change at 4pm and everything's mostly done already. When I get back from that, I'll likely pack up the car so that when Jen comes home, we can head right down. Still to do - driving directions, travel music, ice for the cooler so we can transport the food. I should do the shopping now so I'm back by the time Jen comes home for lunch. Have I bored you all yet? :)
Did I mention that I'm excited? I'm truly blessed to have a wonderful person to share these plans with.
Here is my song for the asking
Ask me and I will play
So sweetly, I'll make you smile
This is my tune for the taking
Take it, don't turn away
I've been waiting all my life
Thinking it over, I've been sad
Thinking it over, I'd be more than glad
To change my ways for the asking
Ask me and I will play
All the love that I hold inside

You are wonderful for doing my dishes. I thought about doing them real quick when I got home tonight. Grendel surely loves you for the food and water and litter duty;)
Remind me to take the non perishables and perishables and also the syrup for the pancakes which I forgot to list for breakfast.

And by the way, I want to sponsor you. However, can I ask that you sponsor me? I'm doing a Relay for Life (Cancer) in June. It's a 24 hour long relay race, where you have a team, and people from your team are walking a track the entire time, and you just alternate who is walking when.
