Rested yesterday. Tooled around on the computer, watched a movie, read for a while, took a nap. A cute girl visited me at lunch time, and brought me McDonald's french fries after work. What a doll. And then, after we'd rolled around in the sheets for a while, I took her to see X2. (She deserved it - after pandering to me all day I could stand a little geekiness.) It's weird to leave the house for the first time at 9pm. It distorts all sense of time.
I spent half of last night coughing my lungs out, and the other half trying to keep the cat from killing one of the cats outside. Grendel is determined to ruin my sleep every night. Blah! Hopefully I've coughed everything out of my system, because I have to go to work today. I'll bring soup and tea and maybe I'll even whine a lot. Yeah. That'll make the day go by. :)

Its usually the little things that make me happiest.
Your girl deserves a round of applause...
After an unusually emotional day, my girl came home, crawled into bed beside me telling me jokes, immitating baby gonzo, the crocodile hunter and blues clues.
It certainly makes life more enjoyable, eh?
Have a great day back at the shelter.

Re:

Why do we inflict these "issues" upon ourselves?!
I can relate, entirely.

Date: 2003-05-07 06:32 am (UTC)My one big criticism was how contrived the movie was. I mean, I know it was necessary for the plot and the message and all of that, but how likely is it that out of 20 guys on a bus from the same area, you would get: the young thug, the overbearing father, the out gay man, the closeted gay man, the biracial cop, the young naive college student, the arrogant actor... You know? I mean, they were all necessary to show the way that racism manifests both outside and inside the African American male community, and also to show the prejudices and discriminations that work their way into the picture, and the struggles of the "minorities within minorities." The film worked well, it was just so staged. :)
Did you see it?
