yesterday was rough, but in spite of it all...

these things made my day great (or at least better than it could have been):

* my ability to run a work social event on autopilot -- it was smooth as glass and I didn't have to worry about it or lift a finger.
* my husband -- who knows to rub my back and give me hug when I'm feeling my blue-est, without me saying a word.
* my husband's cooking -- dinner was leftover meatloaf, roasted potatoes, and a shiitake mushroom/spinach stirfry and it had me salivating. Yes, my husband's leftover meatloaf is that good.
* spring rain -- which is much nicer than winter rain, kinder and gentler.
* my cat's rump -- it makes me laugh because it's so freekin' huuuuuge.
* my friends -- who all give great advice. I am glad that they are rooting for me, concerned for me, on my side. I don't know what I'd do without them.
* books -- my favorite escape.
