Capitalism at its revolting finest.
May. 17th, 2003 02:09 pmI am so irritated! I went to get the gift certificate that my cousin gave me for Christmas, so I could use it since I have to (ack!) go to A MALL (ugh) today to find something to wear to Carina's wedding. It's for Kay Jewelers and it's for $100. I never buy jewelry, but I thought, heck, with $100 I could get a little something. Well, I'm reading the back of it for the "rules" (did I mention it expires June 15th? What the heck?), and one of the requirements is that the purchase must be at least twice the value of the gift certificate.
So even if I want to buy some stupid piece of jewelry, it has to at /least/ cost $200, so I'll still be out $100. How infuriating. I sure don't want to spend $100 on jewelry. Crap on a cracker! But I don't want to just throw it out, since my cousin bought it and it was a gift and all of that. What kind of store makes a stupid rule like that? Grrrrr.
Oh, and it's raining, so I might not be able to bike ride with Brandie. Meh. But we're definitely going to do /something/ fun.
