For dinner, I had macaroni and cheese. To drink, Tang. @set me=5 years old.
This reminds me of the book I finished a week or so ago. Tomboys: Tales of Dyke Derring-Do. Some of the little vignettes and stories were so beautifully nostalgic, so eerily similar, and so poignant that I got misty-eyed. I'm not one that's always rattling about having to be with "the community" or whatever, but I loved being able to read and relate to all of the writers. And in reading the stories of tomboys throughout the last 50 years, miniature genderfuckers who (mostly) grew up to love women, I couldn't help but remark that my family was foolish to be surprised.
I mean, duh. Look at me at 5.
(On that note, I'm going to go kiss my girl.)

Date: 2003-05-20 01:54 am (UTC)Except for a few odd years in High School where I hung out with another tomboy, my friends have always been male. I really couldn't relate to women at all until after I'd been married a while.
So of course since I was SO much more comfortable with the guys I dated em. It was never some kind of gender decision it was just "boys are more fun than girls" :) I even had anal sex before vaginal sex. So I guess I really am a gay man after all. I blame my gender orientation on all those years of sitting in on my mother's interior decorating lectures. It's made me a trans diva. Er, or something ;)

Date: 2003-05-20 06:22 am (UTC)I did a brief stint in Brownies but they bored me to tears. That's sad, because I really wanted to be a Brownie and a Girl Scout and go on camp-outs. My grandmother was active in Girl Scouts, but she was "old school" girl scouts and wanted to do all the cooking and husband-prep stuff.
Aah well. You can come decorate my house.
