And I know that my Jennifer is always telling me that linen pants are dressy and all of that, but I can't help it - what I'm wearing right now seems terribly underdressed for a job interview, and it's the dressiest thing I have in my closet (and not stuffed in a box, taped). I feel like I'm wearing pajamas.

On top of that, it's a boy day and I'm wearing a girly shirt. Suck.

Would you like to borrow a suit?
The only problem is that the pants are pretty big because I bought the suits last year when my dad and grandma were sick (translated: I was eating like crazy and gained a lot of weight). They are from The Limited...pants size 10 and jackets are mediums; I have a black one and an olive one. They're pretty sharp.

Oooh...major suck! Heh, that's why I keep some of the boy dress shirts and all my ties. Because I can throw something together that feels like boy clothes to me, but will come off as "weird dyke chick" to an interviewer. Now, how good of an idea that is, I'm not sure. ;)

Problem is: I have a lot of "boy" clothes, but I don't have any "man" clothes. (Because, well, I'm not a man.) So I have lots of play clothes, but nothing on that end of the line to be semi-formal in. This is fine at my current job (since I wear play clothes), but not so great when I'm trying to dress up.

The other problem is my own: I always feel like I have to be wearing girly clothes to dress up, even though I know in my head that's completely bogus.

Ah, yeah. And there are certain issues of fit with men's dress clothes. I know that I have to bind down if I don't want the buttons to look like they're about to pop across the chest. But I've even noticed things like having alot of spare room about the waist, but not at my hips, too.

I guess, in some ways, I'm lucky to have the ability to go either way when I dress up, though. *shrugs*

Definitely!

It's always (to me) a plus to be versatile.

You know what I noticed? That you weren't on my friends list. DUH. That has been rectified.

Definitely!

Yeah, plus I think that at some point I wouldn't mind trying to do a little bit of drag king'ing. :)

And don't worry about not having had me on your friends list until now. When I added you, you seemed to have alot of friends, so I didn't worry much about it, and I was still living up near Cleveland, to boot. But cool to know that you've added me now. :)

I toy with the idea of being a king. I don't know that I would be particularly good at it. I don't know that I have the right... persona.

I thought I'd added you a million years ago. I have a hard time keeping track, especially when I can't use the internet at work. (Bollocks!)

Yeah, I'm not sure what sort of persona I would use. I'd probably be better off trying to some sort of sauve/sophisticated persona. I don't make a terribly good "tough" guy. Besides, I have a huge appreciation of Cary Grant, anyhow. :)

And as I said, no worries about not having added me. These things happen. It's cool. :)

I couldn't even begin to tell you what sort of persona I would have, because I'm more of a 14-year-old boy, and those don't make good kings. ;)

No, they don't. I guess the reason I even have a persona is because of having had to play the role day-in and day-out, which gives a little bit of an advantage. ;)

boy stuffed in girl's stigma

On days where my schedule doesn't fit my gender, I wear boxers or athletic briefs. Under my suits and skirts.

It's like my last leg of control on those days.

Hey, we all gotta do what we can do...

That's a pretty good idea. I used to have a pair of bicycle shorts that I would wear under my skirts when I had to wear skirts. It helped me feel much better.

You are full of good advice!
