(This post is totally random.)

It was kind of neat to go to Meetup tonight. I got to see [livejournal.com profile] pattisimmons! It's been way too long since I've seen her. Between losing the job and packing and moving and unpacking, I've been a bit of a hermit. At least I'm getting out to bike with [livejournal.com profile] vorpalbla tomorrow evening. If you're interested in joining our Bike Gang, meet at 7pm in front of the OSU main library.

I called that job I want this morning and left a message saying I was definitely interested. And then I didn't hear from the guy. I was sweating it, but he called at 4:30 and transferred me to HR so that I could arrange the background check and all of that. I'll take care of that tomorrow morning before work, whee! Tonight, though, I got /another/ call about a job interview. The woman was so flattering! She said something like, "I loved your cover letter. That was the best cover letter I've ever read. I read your cover letter and thought, 'I need to get this girl.'" and all kinds of stuff like that. I told her I was trying to take another job. She told me to call her if it didn't work out. I'm feeling like a total job stud these days, and I'm not sure why. Last summer, no one wanted me!

I am trying to convince Coworker Shannon to send her resume to the place I want to work, because the Assistant Director told me to "tell my friends with licenses." I'm pretty sure Coworker Jeff is going to take one of the jobs he's working on, so I'm working on Shannon. I would /love/ to work with her some more - I love her to pieces and I have endless amounts of respect for her.

I need to find my diplomas for this job. I told them it might take a while because I don't know what box they're in. Eep! We need to unpack the kitchen like mad, because I want to get food and start cooking. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm getting sick of eating out. Bleh. I want to learn to make yummy foodles!

I cheesed out on Sekrit Date Night to help Jen move the final bits of her stuff and clean her old place so that [livejournal.com profile] mooglegrl can move in. I think this is the last of the moving activities, except for when I go buy a washer and dryer. SO excited to do that. Color me lame and domestic. What has that girl done to me?

Yeah, I suck. I'm in love and I'm all partnered up and I'm pathetic. Hopefully people will still hang out with me and get drunk and make out and stuff. Yeah.

Well, I for one don't think it's boring, lame, or pathetic.

I think it's sweet. *grin*

I'm so glad to hear how well things are going with you.

Now what are you waiting for? Get in that bed and cuddle with your girl!

Two things. . . I need to look at home as I may have some type of coupon thing from lowes for a washer and dryer. . . I will tell you when I get home after 2.

Secondly I do hope that your background isn't as, err, deep as mine is.

:)

1. I have that Lowe's coupon, too, from the Post Office.

2. I have been fingerprinted at nearly every job and volunteer job I've had in Columbus. I'm all set. :)

hooray for your job-studliness! Hopefully you can see that last year people were just stupid and now the real Jude is making herself known and is in demand!

Congrats on all the exciting changes in your life lately!

p.s. what Pride festivities are you doing this weekend?

Rowr!

As for Pride, we were going to go to Suzanne Westenhoefer but might go on [livejournal.com profile] rebacrwfrd's boat instead, to see people. We'll be at the parade, of course, and then down to the festival. Ani that night. I think we're doing Comfest on Sunday.

What about you?

Two things...can you stop at my house as you head the the main library? I am not sure I know where it is. Also, I have a washer/dryer that I don't think I will be able to move with me, if you are interested. I'll give it to you for free if I can come over and use it once in a while.

1. Of course I can come pick you up tonight. I'll call first.

2. I'll talk to Jen about the washer/dryer, but I think I want to buy brand new so I can have someone move and install it (you haven't seen our stairs yet, have ya?) and have a warranty. But you can still do laundry sometimes!

Yeah, you're probably better off brand new. I wouldn't want to think about getting those things out of our basement. The one other problem is that you can't leave white clothes in the dryer too long because it is rusty. Otherwise, they work well.

Yep, yep. Moving in. If I don't annoy your Jen enough first with all my questions and anxiety. :X

Heh, she's hard to annoy. TRUST ME.

I tend to feel old at Meetups, too. So then I show those whippersnappers a thing or two!

Totally. Especially because no one ever hears of laid off social workers in a homeless shelter.
