I hate unpacking!
Jul. 1st, 2003 04:20 pmI unpacked more of the kitchen today. Actually, this afternoon I forced myself to go through the mound of boxes that was covering my cherry desk in the hopes that I could put the glass on it, and make some more room for the washer&dryer delivery people. I now have several piles of things that Jennifer needs to go through (they are old papers of hers), and a bunch of boxes of Jennifer's things put sort of where they will be put away. And I made it to the post office to mail some half.com stuff for her. GO ME!
In a minute, I'm going to go through the pots and pans and see which ones we can give away to Faith Housing. We currently have double of nearly everything, since we were two households. And I recently realized that we have an electric stove instead of a gas stove, so we have that bottom drawer for pots and pans (instead of a broiler). YAY! (The new place is somewhat lacking in cupboard space.)
I've moved the broken down cardboard boxes that Former Coworker Sandra is going to pick up. I think I'm going to put them in my car so they're not in the living room, and so they'll be easier for her to get to. I've moved some of the empty plastic bins, and the big cooler, and some other random stuff. And I have a pile of boxes that need to go up to the third floor. I may have spent a lot of time in my pajamas today, but I still feel like I was pretty productive. Oh, and I filed for unemployment, and called to see where to get residential parking permits (and how much they cost), and made a list of errands I need to run tomorrow, complete with addresses so I can make an effective driving plan. (Nerdy.)
Oh, and I noticed something today when I was clearing out the washer/dryer closet for the (duh) washer and dryer - it doesn't have a vent or anyplace to put the hose. Is this normal? If there's nowhere for the exhaust to go, what happens? Does anyone else have nowhere for the exhaust to go? I'm so confused, probably because I've never owned a washer and dryer, but I thought there always had to be a vent. There is definitely NOT one in our apartment.
