Cool new fact about the new place

Anyone who's seen the place knows that the third floor is tucked away in the slanted roof on the building, so we have slanted ceilings in every room on that floor. Our bed is conveniently tucked up under the slant in the bedroom, and at about 6am, I was awakened to the storm. It sounded like it was raining directly on my head! (And then I remembered that it was.)

It was pretty cool. I love storms. And I'm sure it's becoming tiring, but I love our place. Yesterday Missy dropped by for a little bit, like a good neighboor, and Former Coworker Sandra came to pick up some empty boxes and our extra kitchen stuff (I donated it to her Second Chance program), so now there's less clutter. I don't want to lose this feeling, ever. Total contentment.

I suppose I need to get a job soon.

Don't feel bad for loooving your place! I'd love it too (hell, I do) and I'd talk bout it every single day if it were mine! :) But, I'd have to say that the storms would scare the crap out of me!!

I thought it was so funny when you were acting as "Tour Director" for our new place, taking people through the whole thing. The best was, "And these are the... I don't know what they are, but someday they might be mine!"

It was amusing yesterday. I was watching an anime DVD with The Sorta-Girl, and I broke out an "oh! Grasshoppah!" when a man riding a giant grasshopper appeared on screen. She laughed, which was a very good thing. :)

"Melissa", by the Allman Brothers. I know some female artist/group did a cover of it because I heard it on KBCO a few years ago, but I didn't catch the artist identification.

My sisters are named after "Amy (Whatcha Gonna Do?)" by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and "Sara" by Fleetwood Mac.

Thunderstorms = total rock! Just look at my interests list! The Atmospheric Sciences Program at OSU is a division of the Department of Geography, and when I was in grad school I would hang out in the weather lab (right next door to my office) and I took a couple of meteorology courses. I'm a total weather geek. :) I've currently got the NWS radar site open right now, even!
