No reunion for me. :(
Jul. 10th, 2003 09:50 amI finally have to give in and admit that I can't go to my 10-year reunion. I can't find any airfare under $228, and I can't afford that much money to fly home on a Saturday and back on a Sunday. I feel really lame about this, partially because I really want to go, and partially because I already said I was going. I'm glad I didn't officially buy my reunion ticket yet, or I would have thrown away that money, too.
I hate money sometimes. I feel so useless when it comes to money, and what things cost, and whether or not I can churn out the money. It doesn't help that I've been calling the supposed new job every day since Monday, and it's now Thursday, and they haven't even called me back. I'm starting to think that even though they gave me the benefits forms and everything, that I don't have the job. I don't know what to do - I don't want to keep calling and sounding like a stalker, but I want to get at least someone to call me back. I'm debating whether I should just show up there and drop everything off, but I have things (like my SScard) that need to be copied and I'm certainly not dropping that off.
This is a really crappy way to start a day. It's a sad day when I can't even drive to Dayton to fly AirTran, because it costs just as much on those days as all of the other airlines. Why in all of the world does it cost so much to go to Providence, for crying out loud? Who wants to go to Providence?
Sulk.

Date: 2003-07-10 07:00 am (UTC)That is, unfortunately, part of the cost for it. The more people that want to go somewhere, the less it's going to cost in many cases because it costs less per person to pay for the fuel, the salaries of the flight crew, etc, etc.

Date: 2003-07-10 02:17 pm (UTC)Yeah, that was Plan B - but I brought all the stuff over, so that part's done at least.

Date: 2003-07-10 09:41 am (UTC)We could take Smurfette to Rhode Island. To the bext of my knowledge, Smurfette has never been to Providence.
