'Cause I get in it like a car and drive
Jul. 21st, 2003 03:29 pmI am a non-stop errand-running MACHINE! Ph34r M3!
I went to the Health Department to get a TB test for my new job (I will save the rant about children, and how parents talk to their children.). And on the way back, I stopped at the bank, and then the post office to mail some half.com stuff. And then I met my Jennifer for lunch at Subway (I'd been really craving Subway ever since Missy brought it over the other day), and on the way home, I stopped at Target and Staples to pick up some things we needed. I still need to pick up The Girl's prescription from CVS, and then I'm headed out to see Whale Rider with Jean (sorry, Sean!), and then I'm going to come home and go carshopping with Ms. Jennifer Jean.
It looks like my current financial situation is not as dire as I thought it was. I'm happy for that. I guess I'd managed to save more money before I got laid off than I thought. If Jennifer ends up finding an affordable car, this will definitely be a Shoot, Score, Bobby Orr! kind of day. I'm somewhat ambivalent about her need to buy a new car, but I suppose that's why I'm going along. Yep, that's me - Impulse Control Boy!
THIS (link from
spacecadetjen) looks like it's going to be a totally amazingly fun thing. I want to make a square with My Best Girl! *bats eyelashes* What a neat idea.
On a side note, it seems I can't even apply for a job without getting called for an interview. This is totally screwing with my unemployment. Since I have to apply for one job per week for unemployment, I'm trying to only apply for jobs that I won't get called for. AND I AM STILL GETTING CALLED! Sheesh, I just got a call for a Substance Abuse Counselor position, the ad for which said it required a CCDC (which I don't have) certification. And they still called me. So I haven't been calling these places back, since, well, I'm not allowed to "turn down work" and collect unemployment. Argh! I'm just TOO GOOD.

Is Jen buying a new new car, or a new used car?

Size doesn't matter to me. :)
