My life can be surmised, for the most part, with two words: Chores and Thesis. They are linked.

Because I am unemployed, and The Girl is not, I think it's fair that Chores are my job. Aside from the ones that are specific to her (for example, going through her mail), I try to get them all done while she is away at work. It's amazing how much time I felt that I spent doing chores when I was working, when in actuality it was just so tedious to tack them on at the end of the workday. Now I get stuff done while I'm loafing and it seems like no big deal. Oh, and it /totally/ helps to have a washer and dryer. Ask [livejournal.com profile] vorpalbla - he totally did a "Do and Screw" yesterday, finished laundry and ran his skinny butt out the door!

As for the Thesis, this is another reason I've been doing Chores. Thesis has become large and overwhelming and stressful as everything begins to come to completion, and I don't want to add to the overwhelming-ness with Chores. I figure I will do all of the non-Thesis preparation for the trip (laundry and cleaning and garbage and cats and packing, oh my!) so she can concentrate. I really want this thing to be finished, because it's driving her crazy. I hate watching her run around and get nervous, and see her eye twitch, and feel her fitful sleep, and basically to beat herself up about it. It's going to get finished, and it's going to be wonderful. I just wish there were more parts I could help with. I don't like watching her suffer and fret.

Tonight I get the pleasure of bringing dinner to [livejournal.com profile] pattisimmons and [livejournal.com profile] scottsimmons! Hooray! You should all be envious, because I get to see Fisher. NEENER!

I want to say something thoughtful and philosophical here, but I keep coming up empty. So ask me some questions!!

You can, but you'll have to see me in my pajamas! (*gasp*) Unless, of course, I shower right now.

Or you could come at 1 and catch both of us. Up to you, really.

I'm in my pjs too. I pulled on jeans and a sweatshirt to go grocery shopping this morning, then reverted back to my pjs once I got home.

I'm gonna bring em lunch, probably later on in the week. :-)

Is there anywhere that you can order smurf figurines online (besides ebay), I mean, buy them NEW.?

I agree with you on the chores. Add a baby into the mix, and you'll wonder where you can find time for ANYTHING.

If they would legalize gay unions in some form or another, in Ohio, would you and Jen get engaged?

She usually gets here around 1:10. So... :)

(And she still needs to eat.) She has to leave to go back to work by 1:40 usually.

There used to be a great site (esmurfs.com) where you could get brand new smurf figurines, even the older ones. But for some reason, that site is a dud now. You can hunt around and do a google search for "smurf figurines" and come up with some sites to get mint old figurines. But it's a challenge!

That's a good question. At this very moment, no, because I'm not ready to get engaged.

At some point in the future, legalized unions or not, we are going to get engaged. But that's not something that I've ever said out loud before. (Eep.)

Do not smurf your smurf before smurfing this smurf! That would be cheating.

If you had to smurf all of the smurfiest smurfs in the whole smurf, how long would it smurf you, and how many times you would have to stop to smurf your smurf?

Did you ever have that dream about the guy who follows you to the post office and wants to take your picture for his scrapbook, but his camera is really a hedgehog and whenever he puts his eye up to the hedgehog's butt (which is supposed to be, like, the viewfinder, I guess) the hedgehog curls up and bites him on the chin and he dances around with this hedgehog on his chin screaming, "Aggggh! I should have bought a Polaroid! I should have bought a Polaroid!" and then the bus comes and the people all stare and smile when you get on and you don't have the correct change but the bus driver just grins and winks and waves you on and everyone else on the bus grins and winks and you sit next to and old guy whose breath smells like cheese because that's the last seat left and he starts telling you about his grandkids and the time he took them to see Wellington Parsol and the Squeevy Trio at the Palace and the youngest one was almost trampled in the mosh pit and when the bus finally stops he tucks a used napkin into your pocket as you're getting up and all the people grin and stare at you as you're getting off the bus and later when you look at the napkin you can tell that he wasn't even eating cheese, but chocolate snarfles?

Yet another rousing cheer for PJ's!!! If I could get away with it I would wear them all weekend. In fact as soon as I get home from work each day I change into them! I'm all about comfort!! :-)

I actually don't usually wear PJs around the house. I'm pretty content with wearing my day clothes until I'm ready for bed. But that's probably because I don't work at a job that makes me dress up in things I don't like!

I do, however, wear pajamas to lounge around the house before I've showered.

Easy. Two smurfs.

As for the dream question, I am wondering:

Why a Polaroid? Everyone knows Nikon makes way better cameras.

True.

It does get less scary, which is nice. But that's also a curse, I think, because when you're not as cautious, you can forget how important and serious it is.

Thus is the way of all things.

You worry because it is so serious and with time that seriousness tends to not worry you so much.

Its the same with love and relationships as it is with driving or using a fire arm.

Two smurfs? You're smurfier than I gave you smurf for!

As for the camera, you'd have to ask the guy with the hedgehog on his chin, wouldn't you? Personally, I use an HP digital camera for all my preserving-for-posterity needs.

Well, since I'll never use a firearm, at least I have less things to be serious about! :)

I love my little canon digital elph, mostly because it's pocket-sized and totally cute.

I smurf that Jennifer and I should smurf up to where you smurf, so that one smurf we can smurf dinner with you and Laura.

They arn't that bad. . .

In a way somewhat fun.

I didn't scare myself during my training. . . looking around and seeing some of the other people, however, did.

I almost fell out of my seat laughing.

Which, I take it, means you've not woken up at 4 AM to find yourself dripping with sweat and ravenously hungry for a chocolate snarfle and wondering if maybe you had been wearing a particularly clever tee shirt or if maybe all those people mistook you for someone famous, like that time at the dollar store when the cashier asked you if she could kiss your ring and you considered letting her do it until you saw the sore on her lip.
