Chores and Thesis
Aug. 4th, 2003 11:30 amMy life can be surmised, for the most part, with two words: Chores and Thesis. They are linked.
Because I am unemployed, and The Girl is not, I think it's fair that Chores are my job. Aside from the ones that are specific to her (for example, going through her mail), I try to get them all done while she is away at work. It's amazing how much time I felt that I spent doing chores when I was working, when in actuality it was just so tedious to tack them on at the end of the workday. Now I get stuff done while I'm loafing and it seems like no big deal. Oh, and it /totally/ helps to have a washer and dryer. Ask
vorpalbla - he totally did a "Do and Screw" yesterday, finished laundry and ran his skinny butt out the door!
As for the Thesis, this is another reason I've been doing Chores. Thesis has become large and overwhelming and stressful as everything begins to come to completion, and I don't want to add to the overwhelming-ness with Chores. I figure I will do all of the non-Thesis preparation for the trip (laundry and cleaning and garbage and cats and packing, oh my!) so she can concentrate. I really want this thing to be finished, because it's driving her crazy. I hate watching her run around and get nervous, and see her eye twitch, and feel her fitful sleep, and basically to beat herself up about it. It's going to get finished, and it's going to be wonderful. I just wish there were more parts I could help with. I don't like watching her suffer and fret.
Tonight I get the pleasure of bringing dinner to
pattisimmons and
scottsimmons! Hooray! You should all be envious, because I get to see Fisher. NEENER!
I want to say something thoughtful and philosophical here, but I keep coming up empty. So ask me some questions!!
