Catie Curtis's "Magnolia Street" made me misty in my car today on my way home from work. It makes me think I should listen to more Catie Curtis. This is the ride I'm on. This is the ride I want. I remember a green Jeep and an open road to Delaware, 28 December 2001. I remember becoming reacquainted down the Turnpike. I remember the Delaware state limits a girl sitting on her hand, and the answer, "I'm trying to stop myself from holding your hand," when I inquired. I remember leaving money in the visor pouch so she couldn't pay me back. Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] purpleboots!

I knew that I loved you the first time you got into my car
Your cheeks were flushed and I felt a hush come over me in the dark
I got us lost but at the next cross you said I don't care where we are
I'm in the right car

I drove us slow down a fast food strip and you turned the radio on
I was confused, all the signs were lit and you said I love this song
I wanted to say that I loved you but I knew too soon too strong

Bucky took us to The Burgundy Room for a birthday dinner. Y'all should definitely go. Mmmmm!

What was the menu like?

Well, the menu is changing from their summer menu to their winter menu this week sometime, so anything I tell you will be different.

They split the menu into 'cold foods' and 'hot foods'. There was a cold peach soup, and a hot manhattan clam chowder. There were two cold salads, some bread/crackers with toppings dishes, some raw fish dishes, some cooked fish dishes, some steaks, some ducks. It was a tapas place, so they were all appetizer-sized portions. NUMMY.

I love Catie Curtis. I don't have any of her cd's, but I have songs on cd's that Abby made me. She's on my list - when I get rich I'm going on a shopping spree for nothing but music (oh, and more *toys*).

I ordered one of her CDs on half.com for $5. Yay for half.com, it is my favorite. If I like it, I will get more. :) (Just what I need, another lesbian music obsession.)

p.s. I want to go TOY shopping, too!!!

Your welcome. It really is an excellent song, and she is an amazing artist.

I don't know if you know this, but she has 2 recent-ish CDs. One is Acoustic Valentine (she let her fans pick the songs on her website, and she recorded them acoustically. This is also where "Honest World" came from) and From Years to Hours, which is a bunch of her old, unreleased stuff. Yeah, she's a good one.

I hope that it didn't cause any near-accident, you driving with misty eyes. But, that song makes me cry sometimes, too.

Uh, yeah, I meant "You're welcome." That's one of my biggest grammer pet peeves. How did that happen?

I ordered one of her CDs on half.com. I will see how I like it, and then move into more! Thanks for the CD tips!

And no, I didn't cause an accident. I was waiting at a red light, so you're a-okay. I think I'm imbalanced right now anyway... I haven't been this moody in YEARS.

She's so good, though! Mmmmm. Thanks!
