Niagara Falls, here we come! I'm excited.

While I have visited Our Wacky Neighbors To the North (I can thank the ex for the multitudes of trips to Canada, his homeland), I have never been to the Falls. Actually, I've never been to Ontaria except for an airport layover in Toronto in 1995, so this is pretty exciting. Jennifer's never left the United States (except to go to Puerto Rico), so not only is this her first Falls trip, it's her first Canada trip. Whee! I love experiencing new things with her.

Oddly enough, the lodging we booked is the same exact room as the one [livejournal.com profile] grrlpower and [livejournal.com profile] __disfigurine__ shared a bit ago. Coincidence! Hopefully we'll have as wonderful an experience as they did when they were there. I hope the weather cooperates. I'd prefer it didn't rain or for the love of god SNOW, thank you very much. I am packing sweaters and a coat. I should find my hat and mittens that [livejournal.com profile] auntiesiannan made me, just in case. And my Jesus Christ Superstar Resurrection CD I got from half.com, which is every bit as amazing as [livejournal.com profile] lorimelton led me to believe.

I meant to do a million pre-trip things last night (like charge the camera battery, and clear the memory card) but I forgot. Oops. Hopefully we will still get a couple of Falls pictures. *bounce* I am going to Niagara Falls! (I should bring a barrel.)

Oh, and my FCCS CORE training class is going okay. I don't know if I'm learning anything, but I've met some fun people. Apparently FCCS had a huge hiring on August 25th, and so there's this gaggle of cohorts in my class. I've learned that Coworker Tamarine are in the teeny minority, since most of the people in my CORE are: 23 or younger, newly engaged/wed (to the opposite sex), have just left college with their Bachelor's Degrees, are unlicensed, and are from Ohio. It's like being in grad school all over again! ;)

Okay, time to stock up on cat food. Miss us!

Glad you got Resurection...I have the video, so when I finally drag my sorry butt out to see you, I will bring it. Your girl will cringe at some of the bad theatrics involved, but then Amy will sing "Gethsemane" and we will all sit there agreeing that she rules. She is really awesome on that song.

Sorry I've been so absent...I've fallen back into the pit of Junior High, though it's a lot better being a teacher this time around. I miss you, and I *will* come see you out there. I don't know when, but I will.

Have a great trip. Y'all deserve it!

Oooh, I would /love/ to see the video. That sounds like fun (and you're right, Amy Ray makes a GREAT Jesus).

Don't worry about being busy... I have succumbed myself. I certainly understand. But the offer is always open!

Have fun! I just got back from there a few weeks ago. If you have lots and lots of money, have dinner at the buffet atop the Skylon Tower.

Maybe next time! (No lots of money here.)

Niagra, would we?

We grew up, and I still live, in Michigan.
Ergo, Niagra Falls was an eventuality.

I _did_ find out I'm not 'large-boat' people.

Good luck.

I wanted to do those goofy touristy boats, but alas, it rained the entire time we were there. And while we /did/ make it to /see/ the falls, I had little desire to get even wetter.

Maybe next summer. :) (And you can come, too!)

State-wide mandatory child welfare training. Mostly the basics on child welfare law, child abuse, making case plans... that sort of thing.

(Basically, it's like going to school.)

You were the only person on there that I recognized. I'd hate to think you didn't know of your popularity :)

*pats self on the back*

Actually, it's kind of frightening. There are HOW MANY lj users, and I was #34? Yikes!

If you didn't get any pics, I have a few pics on my puter from a trip in Feb. 2001, and maybe some from other trips as well. My first adult trip to the Falls, in Sept. 2000, was just before I had bought my digital camera, but I may have pics from trips in Sept. 2001 (two days before 9/11) and March 2002. I'd have to look. I just know I have the February ones for sure.

NF is one of my most favourite places. I love the Journey Behind the Falls, but I'm not sure this was the weekend to be doing that. It's much better when the weather is warm.

Oh, and the Niagara Casino is the only one that I've got a winning history at (I'm up about CDN$65 there). :)

We lost a pot of money at the Casino Niagara. BLAST! I won $25CDN at one time, but then we spent it. La la la. I hate casinos.

We got one picture of the two of us, but I think the plan is to try to go again next summer, when we can enjoy all of the goofy attractions and stuff (and warmer weather).

Thanks!
