Hair update (and pictures for Stacy)

My hair is starting to get long. And by "starting to get long," I mean it's starting to seriously annoy me. I'm having a hard time deciding what (if any) products I want to put in it. I'm having a hard time deciding how (if at all) I want to style it on any given day. I'm having a hard time adjusting to not seeing/feeling fresh shaved-ness on my head at all times. It's really sad that I didn't like how totally round my head looked when Sean shaved my head all the way around, because it felt so damned good and the back and sides looked so rad. I can't believe that was about three months ago.

Anyway, this is what my hair looks like today. It really doesn't look so greasy, I swear. I'll blame it on the light source and hope you don't think I'm a total greaseball:


stacy asked me if this userpic was me. And yes, it is, but I don't look quite that cool now. I feel like this particular userpic not only makes me look older (perhaps it's the lack of my young face), but it makes me look like a hottie. In actuality, I look like a 14-year-old boy. So I have included this array of ridiculous faces for stacy's (and your) perusal:





What do you think, guys? Honest and objective opinions, please. I need to either a) realize that it's "worth it" to grow the hair out because it will be "so cool" later, b) find something really cool to do with it as it is, or c) go get a haircut before I go insane. HELP!

Someone had suggested letting the front grow and then shaving the back and sides all fuzzy. You know, that's a compromise I could probably live with if I don't kill myself in the interim "grow out" process.

ARGH!

p.s. I'm wearing our pants today, and I plan to make Jen take a picture when she gets home. And yes, I know I say that every time.

I like pic number two also. Very hottie! But you wanted to know about your hair, didn't you? I don't know much, but I like it the way it is now. Maybe just get it trimmed and shaped a little but keep the current length/style. I wish I had the head to pull off a short hair cut like that. It would be soooo much easier to take care of.

You know, you're very smart. When I started getting sick of my hair last time, I just went back to the "real" hair salon to see my "real" hair stylist. Ever since I shaved my head I've been going to one of those walk-in places... maybe I just need to see Amy and get it all straightened up.

ever the unpopular, i vote to grow it. not a lot, but enough to make it messy. my favorite hair length is a little longer than yours and all messed up. when mine was shorter than it is right now, i'd swoop it forward somewhat (not like the youth crew flip and not quite mod), put some coconut oil in it and give it a good scrunch. actually, maybe the length it is now is good. mess around with the part and style. otherwise, if you hate it, buts out the clippers and shear it.

...but the only thing worse than a buzz cut on a beautiful woman, is one with a mullet. Perhaps I have a fear of buzzed heads. My own head would look much like a child that tried to force the octagon block through the rectangular hole. Grow it long and sexy, to toss and look slyly through it at all the boys and girls.

If it's making you nuts that long, I say buzz it.

(I'll be buzzing mine in the spring or whenever I get really sick of it since I passed the minimum length to donate to Locks of Love a few months ago. But I should keep it long through the winter to keep my neck warm. Or find my darn nice scarf again. It got lost in the moving.)

I donated my hair to Locks of Love once. It was a lot of fun. If you tell the haircut place you're doing it, they might even give you the haircut for free!

You should let the top grow out a bit, and get some awesome hair products (Sebastian Threads is my recommendation!) and then wear it all mussy on top....and keep the sides/back shaved....I think my fave pic of you and your hair is when you and Jen were at Niagra Falls....You two both look H.O.T. like whoa! My hair used to be shaved, and it is not extremely long now, but it was HELL to grow it out...seriously, I had this comb-over thing going for a few months (I mean, the comb-over was damn sexay...but, yeah....) You look really great with short hair! Keep it!

You know, maybe we can cut some kind of deal - I will send you a bunch of my old goofy barrettes (from when I had hair), and you can grow your bangs out!

Maybe I'll just shave the back a lot, so it will still look all reow-reow sexy from the back, and I can have "compromise hair" in the front. Oh, who am I kidding, I am so wishy-washy.

Please tell Mr. slafleur that I said thank you. I'd rather have Peter Gabriel's rock star status, but I guess with his eyebrows I'm partly there.
