It's 5pm. I've been up for 4 hours.
Aug. 28th, 2001 05:12 pmI'm not like this! I'm a daywalker! Sheesh. No goth comments,
juliann.
So I went to bed around 5:15am, and wound up thinking about stuff until 6 or 6:30. So I slept until a little before one. Daedalus was curled up near my hip, kneading my thigh. Ralph was on my legs, as usual.
It's good to be loved by the cats.
The NY trip is getting more and more exciting. Now we have dinner with Louise, and a night gossiping with my Surrogate Mom. Heh. Princess wants to meet the Surrogate Mom. I can only imagine the questions later. :) (Hey,
zuzubailey76, she's a lot like my own personal Library Mom!) And my Matante Chrissy is going to take me to the ocean if it's nice out. So that means if Mark still wants to go, I can go TWICE, and if not, I can still go. :)
I really can't wait. I want to see my parents in RI, too, but now I'll spend the whole time babbling about NY. My friend Hoo is throwing a big BBQ on Labor Day in my honor at his new house. Aah, Boston, and Boston friends, how I love and miss you so. And Baga will be there. That will be muy fun.
Yesterday was Grandma's birthday. I sent flowers. Baga forgot about it and made a scrambling phone call after I reminded him yesterday evening. Score: Black Sheep 1, Golden Boy 0. I win.

My mind's distracted and diffused,
My thoughts are many miles away.
They lie with you when you're asleep,
And kiss you when you start your day.

Date: 2001-08-28 09:12 pm (UTC)Kathy's for when I am sentimental and lonely.
Me & Julio when I really am missing my brother.
Loves Me Like a Rock when I need to feel good.
So many. I just love S&G.

Date: 2001-08-28 11:09 pm (UTC)Yeah, Kathy's Song is my all time favorite.
But when I'm angry or depressed, I am a Rock,
when I'm happy, 59th Street Bridge Song or 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover (gotta love it)
when I'm sad, (or experiencing insomnia), American Tune
I also have Joan Baez and Paul singing The Boxer, which is amazing.
Have you ever heard Blues Run the Game?
By the way, if you flip over my sneakers, you will see the word Diamonds written, with little drawn on diamonds. :-)

Date: 2001-08-28 11:15 pm (UTC)I have the 3-disc set that came out a year or two ago. (Old Friends, I think it's called.) My mommy got it for me because she loves me (like a rock, she rocks me like the rock of ages).
'Homeward Bound' makes me cry, because in grade 10 my friend was moving away and I made her a mix tape with that song on it.
'Sounds of Silence' makes me want to get all activisty.
'Baby Driver' I just love because it reminds me of me, and 'The Only Living Boy In NY' reminds me of this exbf I had. Hee.
'Cecelia' does it for me, but I really like the Paul Simon concert in central park version the best, with the whistles.
Listen to me. I'm so obsessed. If you go waaay back in my LJ calendar, one of my first ever posts was when I saw Paul Simon play here this summer. My god, I just love that man.
And you're right about 'I Am A Rock.' That's my themesong for this whole icky summer. :)
