judecorpYou know what I miss? Photos. I haven't taken a single photo since we came back from Disney. And I don't even think I posted any of them, or doctored them up, or anything. Sheesh! Maybe I will bring my camera to work tomorrow, since it is my Cover Day and all, and see what kind of photographic trouble I can get into at the office.

The snowflakes came down in clumps
Linked arm in arm in the cold
Falling on the rutted ice that
Was once your front lawn,
Perhaps in better times.
The wind blasted my left side.
I jammed my balled fists in my pockets
So they would not freeze
While I waited for the door to open.
You stepped onto the porch
Already shivering.
And the stairs were missing
So I hoisted you down carefully,
Set you down on glass over grass.
Your tiny shoes were on the wrong feet.
Fitting, I thought, with the yard and the circumstance.
Treacherous from every angle.
You are two and a half years old.

Date: 2004-02-10 03:01 pm (UTC)I think you would prefer Santa Fe over Albuquerque. On the other hand, if you don't like snooty rich people, the ALBQ might be a better match. On the other, other hand, Santa Fe has a larger lesbian community. And there are a lot of colleges and non-for-profits that operate out of Santa Fe, as it is the capital and most state services originate there.
And once you get involved, you better stop complaining..
