My landlord is showing our apartment this afternoon to "a couple of medical students whose timeframe matches ours." He says he hasn't started advertising it yet, so I guess these "medical students" contacted him about available units or whatever. I guess this is really, truly happening.

So last night I went on a cleaning rampage, complete with vacuumed rugs and swept floors. Nice. It will be kind of weird having "medical students" walk through our beautiful home, inspecting the exposed brick, the decorative fireplace, the open staircase, the living room full of natural light. I know that someone(s) will move in after we leave, I just can't imagine our apartment being set up any other way.

I am really going to miss our beautiful home. Two bedrooms, office, 1.5 bathrooms, enormous living room, eat-in-chicken, laundry closet, pantry, second and third floors of a building, two parking spaces, across from Cafe Corner. For $735/month. *wisftul sigh*

If we have to sell them, I'm going to ask the landlord first if he wants to buy them. That way he can include it as a perk of the apartment or something.

But yeah, I could ask the tenants, too. Or my downstairs neighbor. She doesn't have a w/d.

Have you seen Girl, Interrupted with Angelina Jolie and Winona Ryder? There's a girl in the movie who says that instead of eat-in kitchen. It's funny.

this must be hard for both of you ... Maybe you could plan some type ritual before leaving to take some of the positive energy and love that the place has with you to Boston....

I know. The rents here are so cheap it is amazing. It's one of the things that has made it so hard to actually get motivated to leave. There's a definite black hole here caused largely by cheap housing.

if the apartment isn't rented by the time I find out about my library scholarship (and I get said scholarship) Sheila and I'd actually like to move there. So you'll have to keep me updated. The plus side of that would be you guys could stay 2 weeks extra, til our lease runs out. I want to live in a nice apartment for once in my life!

I've been attached to that building far before you ever moved in there, and I still think it's a beautiful apartment!
