I'm trying to decide if I should email
saltypony's landlord again. When we spoke last Friday, he'd mentioned taking some pictures of the apartment with a digital camera last weekend and sending them to me, so I could "see" the apartment a little more and feel more comfortable about taking a sight-unseen apartment. He'd also mentioned that he had to decide whether or not to let the current tenants out of their lease on June 1st by April 15th. Which is tomorrow. Since I haven't heard anything, I'm starting to think that he either: a) is not going to let them out of their lease or b) is going to let them sublet to someone else. He'd said he wanted to think about things over last weekend, and in this case, I'm thinking that no news is bad news.
I'm fretting over this because I was actually really kind of excited about not having to apartment-search. It's such a pain to go all over the place looking at apartments and stuff, especially when you're using craigslist along with a billion other people. I like the idea of a neighborhood that I know, and a neighbor that I like! What can I say, I've taken other apartments sight-unseen and it's always worked out fine.
But even if I /do/ decide to email him, I don't even know what I'll say. I don't want to sound like a pain or anything. Bleh.
I scheduled a job interview for Monday, May 3rd. The woman in charge of hiring is going to call me if they find someone before then. Apparently, they are getting ready to interview folks so this is a very real possibility. I wanted to call her to remind her of my existence, and she seemed excited about interviewing me, but at the same time, I'm realistic enough to know that a lot can happen in 2.5 weeks.
Wow, this is turning out to be a really negative entry. Blah.

Date: 2004-04-15 04:39 am (UTC)I'd email him, and wouldn't worry about sounding a pain. Just tell him you're following up on your conversation. Most landlords I know are only too happy to have people interested in their apartments, and the worst that can happen is he blows you off. The best that can happen is a lot of bestness. =)

NO CRYING, PONY!
I also took a screen-capture of my online banking, in case I want to email that to him at a later date to make him feel better about us not having jobs.
