Random Thoughts for your rainy Friday
Apr. 30th, 2004 04:25 pm- Today at the post office, I saw a guy with so much back hair that it was practically leaping out of the back of his t-shirt. My gods, it was like kudzu! It was going to jump out at me. I am so glad I am not That Guy.
- I've had Coworker Tamarine's radio on since about 11am. I have heard "Hey Ya" no less than three times. And not between 12 and 1pm, because that's 'Flashback Lunch' time. Now I know why I don't listen to pop radio much.
- It's very difficult to do a school visit for your coworker at a school that is a five minute walk from your house. No, scratch that. It's very difficult to return to work after the visit instead of your house.
- It's pretty common knowledge that I will drink just about any diet soda. I don't even mind it, actually, because it's less sticky-sweet than regular soda. But Diet Faygo Cola is disgusting. You know, in case you were wondering.
So what did you learn today?

Date: 2004-04-30 08:53 pm (UTC)I also learned that you shouldn't feed your kid a late breakfast before going to lunch at an all-you-can-eat sushi place. (If I'd known beforehand, I would have fed her as soon as she woke up instead of after showering and lounging around.)

Date: 2004-04-30 09:48 pm (UTC)Things I've learned today:
Social Worker licensing is fucked up, on a national (or perhaps international) scale.
More than I ever cared to know about discriminant analysis and logistical regression.
Someone who has the authority to make systemwide programming Sinclair Broadcast Group is an asshat.
I should get my back waxed before hanging out at the beach with Jude. Or at least before she covers me with tar and pennies.
Probably some other stuff, too, but it's all less important.

I don't remember you being particularly hairy, though.

Date: 2004-04-30 10:11 pm (UTC)Well, not like kudzu, but I am no longer the smooth skinny kid you once knew but haven't seen in, like, forever and a half.
How long has it been? Woodystock II? Lag Day on the Cape?

rachelmichellek's apartment in Dorchester, not yours. Doesn't mean we didn't, only that if we did, I've
blocked it outconfused myself again.no subject

Date: 2004-05-01 04:25 am (UTC)Yes! And Jude had the front room, on the left as you went in the door. Big bay window. But she was never ever there when we went to visit Rainy.
Or, apparently, she was there once when we were. I have more memories of other roommate Jill than I do of Jude in Dorchester. And we definitely visited more than once.
My favorite, though, is when we went down to Quincy for Chinese food, then came back up Morrissey, and got to Columbus or Columbia or whatever it is that has the exit of 93, and as we were trying to get through the Morrissey/Columb-a-something/93 interchange, Rainy chirps "This intersection is ass." It was the first time I'd ever heard "ass" used as an adjective. And I've carried that memory with me ever since.
