Financial Frustration
Jun. 7th, 2004 03:11 pmWe live in the highest insurance zip code in all of Massachusetts. We are receiving quotes that are higher than $2000/year for one freaking car, and a diddly little Ford Focus at that! (One quote was $3500/year!!) This is giving me major money anxiety, as I am not sure that we are budgeted for over $200/month for car insurance, especially when we were paying $100/month in Columbus. I just don't know where this money is going to come from. I am ready to kick things.
I am desperately hoping to make at least $36K a year. It is ludicrous that this is a fantastical hope since I have two Master's degrees, but there you have it. I made $29K in Columbus but had money to spare. Making $36K is not even terribly likely, though hopefully I can score $34K if I beg a lot. I'm currently looking at a rent increase (my half) of $300/month, utility increases of unknown amounts, and now this stupid car insurance thing. It's so frustrating. I'm a broke social worker, so I live in a lower-income area to have affordable rent, and now I don't know if we can pay the car insurance. Augh! Vicious cycle. (Let alone the fact that I don't even HAVE a job right now, so I have an annual income of $0K.)
Money just makes me want to throw up. At least it's a nice day today.
