I was going to make another post from my Poll of Suggested Post Topics, but I looked through them and didn't have the energy for any focused thinking this afternoon. Sorry. We're currently running around like mad preparing for our Housewarming Party (7pm til whenever, our house, you should all definitely come) and my mind is running in about 84776498 different directions.

I hate that something fun (a party) is giving me stress. I hate that most fun things have to cost money. We bought minimal snacks, soda, supplies, and beer for el par-tay and I hate that little things that people will consume for five minutes costs money. But we have a bunch of different options for people, so that should be good. We have vegetables and we made veggie dip and hummus to go with them, we have pita for the hummus, we have homemade cookies from last night, we have tortilla chips and salsa, we have regular chips, we have a variety of soda options, we have rum (for coke or pina colada mix), we have wine, and we have a 12-pack of Sam. I would have loved to have more alcohol (especially something other than beer for non-beer drinkers) and also cheese and crackers, but alas, we are TEH BROKE. Poop.

BUT! We have a SNOOPY SNO-CONE MACHINE, and two bags of ice. Good times! I actually have not ever used said Snoopy Sno-Cone Machine, but I am itching to. We also have a Crayola crayon maker but that will not be making an appearance.

So we've cleaned the kitchen and bathroom, prepared food, and ran around purchasing ice and other goods. We dropped [livejournal.com profile] starstealingirl off at South Station so she can go visit [livejournal.com profile] cappucinogrrl and got caught in that crazy downpour at the most inopportune time. Blargh!

Mostly, though, I'm just tired of us not having jobs. There is so much stress around this household at any given time that it alternates between driving me crazy and making me really sad. Jen and I are guaranteed at least one argument per day, almost always related to money. I would like to stop spending money on everything except bills while we don't have jobs, but it just doesn't seem to be possible. Feh. I am just so nervous that the money is going to run out, because the bills keep coming in and the jobs keep being elusive.

Wow, I'm going to be a big Bucket O' Fun tonight, aren't I? Somebody come and save my emo ass!

Can't wait to see you my darlings! Can we bring something?? We can pick up some BOOZE on the way over if you'd like.

Ha ha ha, the word 'BOOZE' always cracks me up and reminds me of dirty old men. Since you are not a dirty old man, William must have typed it.

HEE HEE.

I just can't wait to see you. You don't have to bring anything if you don't want. :)

Well - we'll pick up something if we can find someplace to stop on the way. William is meeting me here at work in a few minutes!

Poor Paul! What does he usually get as a birthday dessert??

I've used that egg substitute you've gotten for me in Boston, but it doesn't really bake that well. Brownies were a disaster. Last year for his birthday his grandmother bought an ice cream cake, and it had egg in it so he couldn't eat it. He ended up with a bowl of whipped cream, which he loves.

Poor Paul! Is he allergic to eggs?

And, the important exclamation - THERE ARE EGGS IN ICE CREAM CAKE??!?!? WTF?

Paul is definitely allergic to eggs. We found this out at a Cracker Barrel when we fed him scrambled eggs for the first time. He broke out in hives, and scratched his face til he bled. He was screaming his fool little head off, too.

That's one way to get the check quickly.

And yes, ice cream sometimes has egg in it, especially things that are very rich, like French Vanilla... anything with cookies, brownies, or such added to the ice cream.

It's a pain to cook egg-free... but I've gotten pretty good at it. The lasagna you took home was egg-free and still held together pretty well. :)

That lasagne was super good! We ate it all, like a job!

I'm not much of a BOOZE-er, so there are no worries there.

What are we supposed to bring to your house? We're short on funds so will need to bring something, umm, cheap. Because we're losers.

That is so totally the second time that the snoopy snowcone maker has been a topic of discussion today for me. I have one. It's on top of my fridge :)

If it makes you feel better, we didn't actually get around to breaking out the Snoopy Sno-Cone Machine, so it is still unused. And we have a lot of ice in the freezer just waiting to be sno-coned. I always wanted one as a kid too, so Jen got me one last year for my birthday. She rocks!

We would LOVE to do something with you sometime soon, it just can't be this weekend unfortunately. We'll be in Missouri for my [livejournal.com profile] smurfbrother's wedding reception all weekend. Though how could I resist your triple d's?
