Yesterday was by and large a perfect day. After a fantastic morning, we headed up to

cranapril's place. The weather was gorgeous for a drive and there was almost no traffic through the city and up into New Hampshire. Their house is fantastic, complete with a screened porch with a beautiful view of hilly country. The weather cooperated, the children cooperated, and the food was great, too. We lounged around most of the afternoon and I even got obliterated in darts by

lorac's husband, William. As the sky darkened, we had a campfire, smores, sparklers to bring out our inner children, and fireworks. And more dessert. Because I think I gained 987437064 pounds yesterday. Cran even sent us home with an entire pan of leftover lasagne because Jen and I are the Charity of the Week. Yum!

We drove home tired but happy, having the sort of good conversation we used to be known for. I had my hand on her knee as we sped through the New England night. Today, Memorial Drive with some of The Usual Suspects plus Dory. Good times.
