Oh, and I got a job offer this morning. Which is definitely good, except that it's not, say, my DREAM JOB and therefore I'm afraid to take it and then get said Dream Job.
And I had an interview this afternoon for another job I'd actually like better than the job I was offered. Aaah dilemmas. (But it's a good dilemma to have!)

Either way, congrats. You will have the dream job in no time! :-)

If a representative from your dream job calls in the next couple of weeks, just quit or something (http://www.rantmorgan.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=4).

Date: 2004-07-13 01:13 am (UTC)From your posts it sounds like there are a lot of social workers job-hunting in Boston. So if you get offered DreamJob later and quit Job #1, Job #1 can easily find someone else for the position. And if you DON'T get offered DreamJob, you'll be happy to not be unemployed any more.
Just wondering, was it the place I talked to on the phone?

Date: 2004-07-13 03:33 am (UTC)The perks of this job are $2K bonus at the end of the year if you make productivity, 32 cents/mile, 3 weeks vacation in year one (4 weeks in year 2), LI supervision, and even though it's driving around, it's in my neighborhood.
So yeah, it could be much worse. :) Thanks for the reference - from what the guy told me today, my references were my best selling point. (So whatever lies you told her totally worked!!)

Date: 2004-07-13 02:30 am (UTC)Take the j-o-b of course and keep your feelers out. Hell, that's one good thing about Social Services, they never expect anyone to last. :D
PS. I miss you.

Date: 2004-07-13 03:31 am (UTC)You're definitely right about them finding someone else. This place has at least 2 open positions (for the same position as what I got), so it's not like they're strangers to looking. Apparently they tend to hire post-grad women who then go get married and have babies. :)
I just want the Dream Job SO BAD!!
