We made our bed.

Later, we're going to lie in it!
(We originally priced frames for our new platform bed, so we would have something to support our new memory foam mattress. After realizing that we couldn't find any for under $200, we designed and built our own with $50 worth of lumber and hardware. We win!)

Date: 2004-07-17 03:08 am (UTC)PS, I've been thinking about memory foam... Did you buy the big $$ t-brand? Was it muchos expensive? Is it worth it?
These questions and many more brought to you by 'exhaustion', get yours FREE with the purchase of two lousy jobs and not enough sleep! :D

Date: 2004-07-17 03:20 am (UTC)2. Jen likes it very much, though. She was having a lot of problems with waking up with pain in our old bed, and she hasn't been feeling that way with this one. I noticed that due to the way it squishes, I can sleep on my side all night if I want without feeling any pain in my shoulder. Yay!
3. HECK NO we didn't pay any kind of expensive full price!! We ordered from some shady website called www.foam4u.com and got a king-sized 6" mattress made of one kind of foam, a 1" eggcrate made of memory foam, and a 3" mattress topper of memory foam (10 exciting inches of foamy goodness!) for $489. So the entire king-sized bed (whole mattress combo plus platform (no boxspring required)) cost under $550. Sweet!

Date: 2004-07-17 03:21 am (UTC)Jen did the bulk of the work, though. We discussed, she drew a plan, we discussed some more, went shopping. I provided cheap cost-cutting measures. She measured and cut the wood, I measured and cut sticky felt for the bottoms of all the feet. She drilled most of the screws and I provided the counterweight. Good times.
