Back still hurts. Like, a lot. I accompanied Jen to the Pru so she could have her interview, and while she was interviewing I went to get a haircut and then hung out in Barnes and Noble. We then walked a little bit until it was too hot and my back was hurting way too much.

I am so annoyed with the haircut. It looks good and stuff, but it wasn't what I wanted. I specifically told the woman who cut my hair that I had been growing my hair out, and that I was going to continue growing my hair out, and I just wanted it thinned out on top (not cut) and cleaned up on the sides and back. She cut over an inch off the top of my hair. Hello??!?!

I don't know what I'm going to do if my back still hurts tomorrow. I have at least 10 hours in a car on tap.

Also, it is way too hot up here in the apartment. Last check was 87 degrees.

did you tell the woman you were unsatisfied with your cut?

No. I didn't really know what to do... because I'd already had her correct what she was doing once.

where did you get your haircut? i can recommend a few places for short-haired people. h goes to beaucage (one of my friends washes hair there, she's fucking hot) and has gone to james joseph when beaucage is booked. she said james joseph is full of dykes. AND liquid hair studios is good. i dated melanie for a brief stint in the 90s and can attest to her impeccable haircutting skills. all these places are gonna be like $40-60 for a cut, which is ridiculous, but haircuts are important. and you can't trust supercuts in the city. never ever. you're better off cutting your own hair.

Well see, I would /love/ for Jen to just cut my hair or whatever, but she is squeamish about the idea. And since I really just wanted someone to buzz a little off the back and use the thinning scissors on top without cutting any length, I didn't think there was any harm in going to supercuts where you pay $13.

I don't really have $40-$60 to spend on hair right now (or ever, really). I get haircuts so frequently (about once a month, because it's soooooo ridiculously thick) that it would totally tap me out.

I need to just plain know someone who cuts hair. And I /do/... she just lives in Rhode Island.

i heard supercuts in the suburbs are ok. maybe you could ride out to braintree or something. also, you could go to a school (blaine or libs or wherever) and have a student cut your hair for cheap. i think the blaine in kenmore does cuts for like $10.

My last haircut before this one was at the supercuts in Braintree and my haircut was pretty good - but Jen's was horrid. So I guess you just get the luck of the draw or whatever.

There was a supercuts in my old neighborhood in Ohio and it was fabulous. That was, of course, because I lived in the Big Queer Area of Columbus and therefore all of the haircutters were used to scads of prissy gay men who needed their hair just so. And all of the haircutters were gay men. And they were just the best.

Maybe I can just fly back to my old neighborhood every 6 weeks and be coo'.

But I think I will totally look into those student cuts. I don't really care enough about my hair to worry about getting the best haircut. (I spend about 3 minutes on it per week tops.) I just care about getting what I asked for, since I actually ASKED for something this time instead of my usual, "oh, whatever, it's just bugging me."
