I may have missed the bedtime deadline, but perhaps this tale can be told on another night, before the same bed.
I should also warn you that this story has a beginning, but very little middle and absolutely no end. Those will probably follow at sometime in the future, if you'd like the story to continue.
Alas, when I tried to paste it into the comment window, LiveJournal informed me that I'd exceeded the maximum allowed length by a fair bit (I forgot about that), so I spent a little extra time and created an web page for the story. Probably best viewed at 800 x 600 and up, who knows.
