Day of much free-ness
Sep. 12th, 2004 12:00 amTonight I went to Passim to see Alix Olson (my little monkeygirl hottie) and Pamela Means. I got to go for free because I postered for the show a little bit, thanks to a hook-up from
Jessica. I do love things that are free, and sometimes it's fun to just be out with the dykes. Unfortunately, they were all 18 years old. I am OLD. Gah. I was standing outside with
napkin_poems while she was trying to mack on these two girls, and they said they were freshmen at Brandeis and I wanted to die. THEY WERE 11 YEARS YOUNGER THAN ME. Holy crap on a crap cracker.
The show was really great. There was great energy and Alix was cute as always. Her hair was kind of feathered and mullet-y which was a total turn-off and it looked icky until she got sweaty. Then the mullet-ness kind of washed away, thank goodness. Pamela Means is so subtly funny and she just kicks ass. But the most kick ass thing is that Alix called Jessica on stage to read this amazing body-positive poem that she wrote recently - and it rocked the house! People even gave her a standing ovation. GO JESSICA!
So yeah, the Alix show was a great cap to a good day of freebies. Today was Family Day at the Museum of Science for the organization I work for, so we got into the museum for free, got free parking, had a free picnic lunch, and then got discounted $5 tickets to the LotR exhibit. (That's good, since I'm not into the movies or anything it was definitely not worth $19 to me.) Today was basically a very busy day that cost very little money. Definitely an A+. We all know The Jude likes cheap.
