ditto, well I picked the tongue ring because tongue rings always annoy me... moving around and stuff when people talk. Vertical labret, what's that? I'm not motivated enough to google 'em. :-)

Oh ok. Yeah those annoy me too, anything that moves when people talk. :-) Eyebrow rings, nose rings, ears, no problem. Stuff around the mouth... not my thing. Although the earrings that stretch the lobes and put holes the size of dimes in the middle of the lobe, those creep me out too. Like there's not supposed to be a hole THAT BIG there, you could catch it on a fish hook.

Nose studs can be quite inconspicuous. I didn't notice Carina had one until I'd known her for several months.

Yes they are. However, they're also quite mainstream and popular. I'm not sure if I'm ready for that right now. ;)

not the labret! anything but the labret! it looks so super cute on you. in fact, if i had the option to choose between ALL of your other piercings out, but leaving the labret in; or no labret but keeping all other piercings, I would choose the former!

Wow, really? It's the one I'm ALWAYS thinking of getting rid of. Sometimes it really annoys me. And sometimes I think it just doesn't suit me.

Augh!

no way!

it is ridiculously cute! if you get rid of it, i will hunt you down and repierce it in your sleep!

HA HA HA, somehow I think I would notice.

p.s. Friday night I plan to upload the pictures. I already got them off the camera, but they're on Jen's computer somewhere. (Mine is a POS.)

look, you can't listen to these people. they're voting the vertical labret out and that's just wrong. if i can be a lawyer with all this shit in my face, you can be a social worker!

Oh, my job doesn't care at all. I just don't know if I still want all this metal :)

Date: 2004-09-14 05:30 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] jost.livejournal.com
I would suggest as little "grab-able" metal in/on your face as possible if your job consists primarily of working with babies and infants.... you might have been lucky so far but it's only a matter of time before Mr. or Ms. Curious decides to gives you a mighty tug in a tender spot....

From: [identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com
That's a good point. Most of the time kids don't get all that close to my face, but it's certainly a possibility!

From: [identity profile] hope-persists.livejournal.com
well then the only thing to think about is which places will HURT if they pull on it. for instance, my nose ring hurts like hell if it gets pulled on. but i can tug and tug and tug on my lip ring and it doesnt really hurt at all.

ps. dont lose the labret! hahahah

Well, I think if any piercing got completely ripped out of my skin, it would hurt. Regardless of location.

But yeah, the mucous membrane of the nose is REALLY sensitive!

Since I don't know what most of these are, I'm not much help however I think you should do whatever you want to. I'm a lot of help, aren't I?

Ha! This is a vertical labret: http://www.judecorp.com/pics/vertical_labret.jpg

The industrial is in my right ear and is a barbell that is thread through two cartilage holes. The conch is a hoop through the middle cartilage of my left ear. The others are pretty self-explanatory, right? :)

Wow, so many different names. I guess I'll fill out your poll now!

It's a lip piercing.

Keep the labret.

The labret is ubersexy and looks REALLY good on you.

I miss you, Jude. Are you up for a call sometime?

Date: 2004-09-14 11:08 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com
Yes of course! I miss YOU!

Tomorrow night after work we are going out to dinner with Ms. Shani, but I could call you tonight? Later tomorrow night? Thursday night is Survivor...

The labret is cool, if it's the one in the center of your lower lip (and I'm pretty sure it is). A large collection of hardware on the ears wigs me out, which is why I voted to ditch the conch (which I looked up) and industrial (which we've discussed previously). Teeny nose studs are teh sexy, especially if you don't notice 'em right away.

It wasn't an option on your poll, but I'd shy away from the full torso piercing (originating at the navel, proceeding through the spinal column and terminating in the middle of the back), too. Just my two cents.

The conch is my favorite. I would get rid of the industrial (and the other earrings) first before I got rid of the conch. Aside from it being my favorite, it had a really long (and painful) healing time! :)
