The Director of my program commented to me that my productivity is very good. This is apparently unheard of in new people, because you have to build up your caseload and all of that.

The funny thing is that there is no magic formula to what I did, and I don't have any special powers. I was just smart about everything. When I started doing a lot of assessments for kids who didn't qualify, I asked the Intake Coordinator for cases of kids that automatically qualify. When I was concerned about a low caseload, I asked for Susan's playgroup. (That brings me 8-10 hours a week.) I sign up for other people's assessments. I call my clients the day before their appointments to remind them to be home. This is just the way it's done, people!

Well, that and I am insane. Case in point: I try to keep my Fridays light so I can catch up on paperwork and phone calls. Tomorrow the only thing I had scheduled was one assessment at 10:45. However, I have three assessment write-ups to complete, as well as a couple of notes to write and phone calls to return. So what do I do? I volunteer to go on an assessment with Nicole in the morning at 9:00 - so I will go to her assessment, duck out and runnnnnn to mine. However, assessments are scored as time spent x 1.3 on the productivity-meter, so that's good for me.

The word on the street is that if your productivity is good at the half-year mark (December 31st), you get $500 of your $2000 yearly bonus at the beginning of January. The REAL question is, though: Am I eligible for this? Can I qualify for "full productivity" even though I started /after/ July 1?

You *deserve* the bonus. My guess is that they give it out based on merit.

Nah, it's entirely based on productivity. It's created to get people to bill for more hours. More billing = more money for the agency.

When I was hired, I was told that because I started after July 1, and would not have a full fiscal year of productivity (I missed that by two weeks), I /might/ be eligible for a partial annual bonus.

I just hope I'm eligible for at least a partial winter bonus too. :)
