Heh. You know, if I thought that: a) I would get house funding with no local job, b) it was in good enough condition to go through a winter without killing me, and c) I could get a decent job in Columbus that wasn't just going back to my last job, I might buy it on the spot and see what happens.
I really REALLY want to fix it up. And the taxes are sooo loooooow, because it's just south of Clintonville. Sweet.
I want to know why on earth it has wall-to-wall carpeting. I'm guessing it's probably been a rental house for a while. Why else would you cover up all those floors on a nice old house?
People are crazy. That's my answer on the carpeting. Or they prefer to mask the amount of dust on the floor by letting it settle on a rug rather than seeing it form bunnies by the bookcase.
I think there is definitely too much TLC, but you have to watch a lot. Which I have this weekend. I hate being glued to the television, but I just love those home improvement shows!
My guess is that the house was a rental. It's on campus(ish) so the carpet is probably hiding years of destructive studentage.
Old houses are so pretty. I don't see why people love to ruin them with carpet. Our upstairs is carpeted. The downstairs floors are so beautiful that I can't imagine the upstairs being all that bad, but we didn't have the time to rip it up when we were moving in, so it remains carpeted.
Thank you for the e-mails! We especially want the million dollar house - thank you so much for finding it for us! (I'd actually seen it on realtor.com.)
I think it's funny that you're using your MLS powers. You can go up in price a little bit, but I'd LOVE to stay in 43202 if possible. :)
