Go Manny Go!!
Oct. 26th, 2004 09:26 pmFirst of all, I want to express my extreme love for Manny Ramirez. He is my favorite, and I adore his goofy, lopsided hair!
Second, I got summoned for jury duty. I report on January 6th. I hope I get a trial. (Actually, I hope Alex Cabot is the ADA and Olivia Benson is a star witness. And I hope Alex says, "You work for me, at my discretion." And I hope Olivia has short hair and is wearing a tight t-shirt. But I digress.) This is the second time I've been summoned in Massachusetts. The first time was after I moved away in 1998, so I had to excuse myself.
I am going to a Halloween party in NYC on Saturday and I still don't have a costume. And no time to shop for a costume. This is kind of a problem. Speaking of the party, I am going to head to NYC on Friday afternoon after work. My last home visit ends at 2:00pm. I am trying to decide if I should drive or take the bus. Driving would probably run me into rush hour at some point and I'm not sure if I want to deal with that. However, taking the bus would take significantly longer because there's a stop in CT /and/ I would get dumped off at Port Authority and would then have to subway and bus to Queens. These logistical decisions are not my strong suit.
I worked a pretty long (read: busy) day today. I had playgroup from 9:00 to 12:00, and then home visits back-to-back from 1:45 to 2:45, 3:00 to 4:00, 4:15 to 5:15, and 5:30 to 6:15. Yowzers. AND I got turned around on the Dorchester-Mattapan border and that was aggravating. I very rarely get turned around and I am therefore irritated with myself.
Also, earlier Jen and I were sitting on the couch and she was eating grapes. I was leaning against her and making her feed me grapes like I was a baby bird. I would even say, "Cheep! Cheep!" when I wanted another grape. How cute is that? (Actually, don't answer that. It's a wonder I even /have/ a significant other.)

Date: 2004-10-27 02:17 am (UTC)If you have like 5 minutes, you should say hi to me in person.
I would drive - comforts of own car/music and public transportation can be total hell sometimes. Remember that time we met and your subway didn't run and I ran all over the city trying to find you, crying, "Jude! Jude!"? Because I do.

One of the ADAs on the trial I got for jury duty a few years ago offered to buy me lunch. I should have run with it, it would have been interesting. I watch for Alex eating on the show now because of one of your posts!

Date: 2004-10-27 03:19 am (UTC)Not only do I hope Alex is the ADA, I hope someone in the courtroom calls her a bitch. Because then she'll get that "You call me a bitch like it's a bad thing" smirk on her face, and there is no resisting the smirk.

Date: 2004-10-28 01:29 am (UTC)That's what I was when I had no time to buy a costume. I just printed out a map of Poland, glue it to a piece of cardboard and hanmg it around your neck with a string.
Not very many people got the joke though.
