This evening I offered to get up early tomorrow morning to meet one of my families at their son's new daycare/preschool, because he's been refusing to go. It makes me /so/ sad that he isn't enthusiastic about going, because he was always SOOOO incredibly excited to come to our nursery school/playgroups. (But his parents need him in full day childcare, so...) I offered to go there or to their house tomorrow morning to try to get him jazzed up about going, and also suggested going early (before a lot of other kids come) so he is less likely to be freaked out.
The kicker is that I gave the family my personal cell phone number (as I have no landline phone) so they could call me when the mom came home from work with their decision. She called at about 9:15, and I'm meeting them at the day care at 8:15 tomorrow morning.
This was either the nicest or the stupidest thing I've ever done. You be the judge.
(p.s. SVU was so, so good tonight.)
