This evening I offered to get up early tomorrow morning to meet one of my families at their son's new daycare/preschool, because he's been refusing to go. It makes me /so/ sad that he isn't enthusiastic about going, because he was always SOOOO incredibly excited to come to our nursery school/playgroups. (But his parents need him in full day childcare, so...) I offered to go there or to their house tomorrow morning to try to get him jazzed up about going, and also suggested going early (before a lot of other kids come) so he is less likely to be freaked out.
The kicker is that I gave the family my personal cell phone number (as I have no landline phone) so they could call me when the mom came home from work with their decision. She called at about 9:15, and I'm meeting them at the day care at 8:15 tomorrow morning.
This was either the nicest or the stupidest thing I've ever done. You be the judge.
(p.s. SVU was so, so good tonight.)

Hell my love of the redhead is the only reason I have seen Bordello of Blood a few times (Angie Everheart).

Date: 2004-11-17 12:25 pm (UTC)But the best part was finally sticking it to Stabler. His attitude always raises so many psychological red flags for me - I'm glad my best buddy Huang called him out on it.
(Look at me talking about them like we're all friends!)

Date: 2004-11-17 03:01 pm (UTC)Random trivia: B.D. Wong, the actor that plays Huang, was the voice of Shang, the hero, in Mulan and is currently the voice of Baba, the father, on PBS' Sagwa the Chinese Siamese Cat.

Date: 2004-11-17 01:20 pm (UTC)But all of you are wrong about the L&O franchise's DAs. 23-year old Jill Hennessey lead the league until just recently, but that petite blonde who plays Serena Sullivan on the regular L&O is the hottest woman ever.

Date: 2004-11-17 11:49 pm (UTC)Personally, I could care less about the ADAs because my love runs deep for Detective Olivia Benson. However, part of her charm is that she was all butched out during the Alex Cabot years, because there was lots and lots of good HoYay.
I'm so glad we're all big L&O fans. It makes me feel less dorky. :)

Date: 2004-11-17 04:31 pm (UTC)Not only does that guy, RL, piss me so the f**k off, but they made a show on telly about how f**ked up that whole scene really was.
I hate that man, and I momentarily hated 'Law & Order' for making me watch the entire thing, again, essentially with a sardonic commentary track from the detectives and the lawyers.
Please don't tell me I'm the only one who would beat the former governor of New Jersey into bouillion if I saw him walking down the street?
Re: Rar!
Date: 2004-11-17 11:52 pm (UTC)(And since I don't watch regular L&O, I haven't seen the episode. I've only seen a handful of regular L&Os in syndication on TNT.)
p.s. Totally off-topic, that userpic of yours totally cracks me up!
Re: Rar!
Date: 2004-11-18 12:49 am (UTC)But he had an affair. He cheated on a wife he married in a terrible, terrible sham with a man he gave a post in his administration. Then, sometime later, he had the cajones to say 'I'm gay, and I did a bunch of shit wrong.' It strikes me that no-one's supposed to be _that_ ignorant. To make that many egregious mistakes in the face of gaiety smacks of denial, of shame, of disavowal in the face of overwhelming proof and evidence.
Not just that he's gay, but he lied about being gay, he lied about being married, he lied about his partner. And some people applaud him for 'the courage.' I'm not so convinced. Courage is not peppered with so many lies when, at some point before his resignation, he could've said to himself: 'Hey, wait. I ought to clear some things up.'
Nah, he continued to weave the web. He persisted in his course until it became entirely unseemly and untenable. It was never one, or two, or a handful of misunderstandings he had to clear up. A filthy rumor or one, or two. No. Giant ball of outright lies and misdirections -- and we're supposed to be proud of him for what? Sorry, no. That's my take.

Date: 2004-11-19 12:24 am (UTC)That's cool about B.D. Wong. I'm going to have to Google him or something and see what sort of dirt I can pull up. :)
I have never seen The Amazing Race but I know it's won some Emmys and some of my friends really like it. I'm partial to Survivor but then again, I try not to watch too many reality shows because I always get suckered in!
