Greatest Love of All Time
Dec. 7th, 2004 02:49 pmIt's Tuesday afternoon, and that means I'm home because I GOT STOOD UP AGAIN by the same freaking family. This is the third Tuesday (not in a row, but almost) that they've stood me up. I'm a little more worried about them this time because their phone was disconnected and there were two garbage bags in the hallway... but right now I'm more irritated than worried. I'm sure by tomorrow the pendalum will swing in the other direction.
Also, it is cold today. Brrr! Cold and wet. But I have CATS right now. And then I will go to two more visits (and they will show up!) and then I will hit work to make a phone call (stupid me left the number there) and then I will run some holiday shopping errands and then I will go home. In from the rain, in from the cold, under a blankie with my smoochie.
2005 is the year that she falls in love with me again. 2005 is the year she realizes that our love is so deep and so strong and so powerful that we simply /must/ share it with a child. 2005 is the year our families truly realize the family that we are. 2005 is the year we get our ducks in a row to buy a home together. 2005 is the year that there are more warm embraces than tense conversations. 2005 is the year we get it all back together, the year that every argument doesn't lead to "is this the beginning of the end?" paranoia, the year we go back to being that nauseatingly cute couple, and the year that will go down in history as Proof Of The Greatest Love Of All Time.
This is my will, let it be done. And let it start today, a little early. I'm an overachiever.

Date: 2004-12-13 06:50 pm (UTC)Funny, I'm a white male Christian conservative -- otherwise known as "the enemy" :) -- probably the last type of person you'd want to take relationship advice from. But the same skills that have kept me married for 17 years can help any couple stay togther. And Thrive. More power to ya.
