I would like Aruba to start offering same-sex marriage licenses so Jennifer and I can move /there/ instead.

Brrrr.

Move to Vancouver like Barb and I. It's warm there. =)

Dude, it snows in Vancouver. I know - I was there and saw it first hand.

If I'm leaving the country, I'd like it to be snow-free, thanks. :)

(Although I love Vancouver. It's totally gorgeous there.)

Hmmm...
Aruba? orrrrrrrrrrrr Vancouver?
Benson? orrrrrrrrrrrr Novak?

Just wanted to say "Hey, thanks for our Holiday Greeting card. You and Jen are the best!"

Annnd, btw, whenever same-sex marriage is legal across U.S., I'll be happy to perform your ceremony for you as I'm now an ordained minister of the Universal Life Church.
Lol - Am I fab or what?! :D

Hee - my fat cat Daedalus is an ordained minister of the ULC (and so am I, but it's funnier when I talk about my cat). Wouldn't it be cool if my cat did our wedding??!? Ha!

We're actually going to get married soon. We were shooting for our anniversary (12-28) but I doubt we'll be able to pull it off. Heck, we've been putting it off for a while now. MUST GET CRACKING! (Aaah, the benefit of living in MA where we can get legally married - now we can fret about wedding planning with all the straights!)

And you're welcome for the card! And the answers are clearly: Aruba. Benson. And ME!

i strongly suggest not fretting over nuptuals. grab a JP, find some nice stretch of shoreline, and get it over quickly.

we did just that, spent less than 400 bucks (including lunch and wine for our witnesses) and couldn't be happier. my best friend got married the next weekend, spent close to 10 grand, then confided she was miserable the whole day and wished she did what chris and i did.

for me, nothing is more embarassing than declaring my love in front of hundreds of people.

chris and i found a nice restricted strip of shoreline owned by the Department of Homeland Security. we were married so quickly that no one had time to throw us off the property.

Well, we're not /really/ stressing over nuptuals. Not really. I don't really want to have any kind of big deal, so it's no stress for me. The stress comes because my beloved kind of wants to have a Big Deal Wedding. (And I can understand that, I mean, her sibs had them, etc.) So the stress is more about doing what's best for both of us when we have different wishes.

I agree that simpler is better. The commitment is already there and always has been. A slip of paper is really just more garnish.

Would you settle for Acapulco?

Or how about Cuba? Might as well give folks on the right one more reason to hate Castro.

Then again, I hear it's hard to get PBR there.

You know, if it's warm and beachy, it wouldn't take much convincing. I could always drink a different cheap beer. Or switch to froo-froo drinks with umbrellas in them.

Agreed. Aruba is lovely, have you ever been? My parents took mewhen I was 12, I'd love to go now, when I'm old enough to really enjoy and appreciate it. I do, however, still remember the Pastichi...these fabulous flaky pastries filled with sliced ham and gouda. Mmmm...they were gooda. :-)

Man, Columbus turned you weak if you're complaining about THIS being cold!

And in speaking of getting married, guess what we found last night while cleaning out the Saturn to get picked up?

Dude, I used to complain about the cold in Columbus, too! (Actually, Columbus and Boston are pretty similar in the cold temps department - the lows are about the same but Cbus has a shorter winter season and significantly less snow.)

And I can't even begin to guess, since it's "speaking of weddings." Is it something from my previous marriage? I hope not, in the middle of this fun little quirky post celebrating love.

I think I need to make this my new mantra. After all, the autumn flew by... why won't winter, right?
