For those of you in my generation, you might want to read this. If you don't want to see anything about 11 September, don't click.

For those of us in the 25ish range...

I'm (almost) 30 and this rings true for me, too. I feel like I've grown up really fast. =( I was worried about turning 30, and did that mean that something significant was changing in my life. It's not a birthday that makes the world change. If we as a generation find a sense of unity and belonging out of this, not just Americans, but everyone, then at least there is something bright that came from that dark, dark day.

as a twenty-sixer, i don't really feel quite as if my world has come to an end. it just poses more questions and opportunities (not for a raise, unfortunately). freedom will be seriously curtailed because of this, by our gov. in the name of national security. what this should do is not to make us wish that we were older, but to show us the value of existence and the meaning of mortality.
realise that i speak this as a private citizen who could get drafted, which would put a completely different spin on the matter if so.
things will be different. if you wish to be old and nearing death, i'm certain that such magic could also allow you to replace an unfortunate salaryman in the wtc.
it is an interesting article though.

Well, I never claimed to want to replace anyone, and I haven't said what my feelings are on the article.

The part that was most interesting was the part about using email to ensure loved ones were "okay." I spent all of Tuesday afternoon in Queens sending out emails, since the phones were dead. It was an interesting use of technology.

As for my world changing? My world changes daily. This may have been a bigger change that will affect more people, but I am still me, still doing what I do, still loving, and still being a pacifist.

Whee!

it's difficult to be a pacifist when they're coming to get you in the name of "god".

It's difficult to be a pacifist all the time, reasons notwithstanding.

It's easier to have convictions when they go unchallenged. This experience has challenged my convictions, and I'm proud to continue to hold them. Regardless.
