p.s. Jennifer made lobstahs in the lobstah pot I got her for our anniversary. And that was cool, except that I learned today that buying live lobstahs at the store and putting them in a lobstah bag and thinking about their impending demise just plain makes me sad for them. So I had to go in the other room and do my taxes while they were, erm, turning red. Poor widdle lobstahs, removed from their tank with all of their friends, alive when they came into my home...

But they sure were yumm-ay!

Alton Brown also said (in the same show mentioned above), that lobsters are more closely related to cockroaches than cuddly critters like puppies. He even pulled out a phylogenetic tree to prove his point.

Not sure if that helps you feel any better about the cooking alive part. Or maybe it just turns you off to lobsterrrr (as we say it out here in Wisconsin) completely.

Ha ha, lobsterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. (I actually do pronounce all of my Rs unless I'm trying to be funny. I got rid of that New England accent a loooong time ago, sometime in early high school I think.)

Yeah, I know that they are "the cockroaches of the sea" or whatever... who cares, they are delicious! And I know they're not pets, either. I dunno. It just feels weird to invite a live creature into your home and then toss him into a pot. Poor Larry Lobstah!
