Nobody Knows

I just came back from seeing one of the most depressing movies of all time, Nobody Knows (Dare mo shiranai). Aside from being quite depressing, it was also quite beautiful, and quite long. Long enough to develop a full-blown sore throat throughout the duration of the movie. Bummer.
When Tim and Vito and I left the theatre, I don't think any of us could really speak. Usually by the time you pass those dark doors you're already voicing your thoughts on the plot, the cinematography, anything. There were no words for several minutes. The movie is like a lead balloon. A stunning, poignant, beautiful lead balloon.
I sure wish I didn't have a sore throat, though.
