Busy Day

My stupid congested sinus thing turned into a coughing lung thing over the weekend, and yesterday it became the dry cough that sets off the swollen left tonsil thing, which is where I am right now. I'm still hoping to get through my work day (five home visits and staff meeting, 9:30 - 6:30, trying to pick up Jennifer's dry cleaning somewhere in the middle) and hit the gym for that Low Sculpt class that I liked (7:00 - 8:00), before coming home to see the results of this week's American Idol votes (8:00 - 9:00).

I wonder if this will really happen. I decided to keep it light yesterday because I was having random coughing fits, so I walked for 30 minutes on the treadmill at slower-than-my-usual treadmill pace but with a bit of an incline, and then a teeny little bit of weights. I found that I can walk without getting bored if I read a magazine, even though the bouncing makes it hard for me to focus on the words. Still, reading a parenting magazine for 30 minutes did nothing to help my baby issues. Whoops.

Wow, this is my life, and it's killing you all with boredom one bored soul at a time.

p.s. I'm still so happy about the Ho!Yay!

So... how impossible is it to live alone on your salary? I'm on the verge of clicking in an application for a job that is going to give me about a 15k pay cut and a (hopefully) 100% increase in self-fulfillment.

Depends on a couple of things: the standard of living in your area, your amount of monthly expenses, and how frugal you are. In Columbus I lived alone on $27K/year without a problem, and I had a 1BR apartment to myself, was responsible for all of my utilities, took care of the cats, paid my other bills, and was able to go out regularly.

Then again, it depends on what you're used to, also. I don't know if I could do the $27K/year thing here. I make about $7K more now and share expenses. Who knows?

I actually /did/ manage to read all of the articles I was reading... it was just kind of hard on the eyes. But it really did make it go a lot faster for me.
