Sheesh, why didn't anyone ever tell me that Julian Schnabel wrote and directed Basquiat? I /love/ Julian Schnabel! Heck, I still vividly remember seeing Before Night Falls in the theatre. Did anyone read Before Night Falls besides me? I had to read it after I saw the film with one of my Stonewall volunteers. It was totally amazing. So was the film.

I didn't *read* Before Night Falls, but I did see it in the theater with a cute boy in what promised to be a hot date. That is...until one of the OMFG GAY SEX SCENES came on, and he stood up in the middle of the theater and said "Fucking fags" and walked out.
